We stop on campus and get out of the car. “My class starts in five minutes”, I say and turn against Marcus. “Yeah mine too”, he says. “What’s your major?”. “Communications”, I say. “Mine too”, he says and I stare at him in shock. “What?”. “No I just thought you would’ve had music”, I say. “I know that you can sing”. The light in his eyes disappears and he pulls his hood over his head, I hate it when he does that. “We gotta get to class”, he mutters and start walking towards the building. “Sorry for being honest!”, I yell annoyed after him. I’m just about to follow him when I see Lexi disappearing behind the corner. “Lex!”, I yell but she doesn’t hear me. I run after her but stop when I see that she’s not alone. In the dark alley Justin stands leaned against the wall waiting for her. He takes the cigarette out of his mouth and smiles at Lexi. “Hello beautiful”, he says. Lexi takes his cigarette and puts it in her mouth as she puts her arms around her neck. He takes a grip of her face as she spits out the cigarette and they start making out. I hide behind the wall waiting for them to stop. A few minutes later I hear footsteps coming towards me and then Lexi walks past me. “Lexi”, I say and grab her arm. “What the hell?!”, she yells and pulls away her hand. “What are you doing here Freja?”. “I should ask you the same thing”, I say. “What the hell were you doing with that jerk Justin?!”. “That “jerk” is my boyfriend”, she says madly. “Don’t you insult him in front of me!”. “Boyfriend?!”, I yell in shock. “What happened to Gabriel?”. “He never meant anything to me”, she says madly. “And he never will either”. I know that she’s lying but right now she won’t listen to anyone but herself. I know this side of Lexi, the bad side of her I’ve seen it before. When she’s gotten hurt she puts a fake facade up to hide what she really feels. First time I saw it was when her dad died in the navy. “Lexi listen to me”, I say seriously. “That guy is dangerous he and his gang almost killed me yesterday if Marcus hadn’t been there...”
