*A.N.: I realize this update seems to exist outside of the actual book, but it is connected, and if you want to understand it better, perhaps you should also re-read "Part 48 - A Celestial Chat" from Book 2 before you read this one.
Don't worry, you don't miss much if you skip the Celestial Summon or don't understand it since it is a lot vaguer and more philosophical than normal updates.
I promise not to be very upset if you don't vote it!
Normal update next week!
On a metaphysical beach by a metaphorical ocean, where time and space are irrelevant:
Balance: "You called a meeting?"
E: "Indeed. Enough time has passed."
Change: "What is the meaning of this?"
U.: "I am here."
C.: "As am I."
E: "The situation is as ripe as it could be. Things must progress."
Change: "You have no right to call on us, or to give any orders!"
E: "Nor did you have any right to touch the Well of Souls."
If the representation of Change had a physical body similar to that of a humanoid, it would be blushing in shame, with guilt burning its cheeks.
Change: "I didn't actually..."
E: "Touch the Well of Souls? I know. Your Avatar, however, is a part of you. The fact you allowed her independence so she could broker unpredictable change beyond you regular expectations does not absolve you of the responsibility. Same way a parent is responsible for the proper education of a child."
Change: "But..."
E: "Do I need to add that it was you and ONLY YOU who pulled me and the other one into this world so Balance could have the pieces for reparations, following your Avatar's inconsiderate actions?"
Change: "I can't believe I'm being lectured by a mere soul! Or soul piece. Or whatever! And you broke the rules of Aunt C.'s world anyway! You have no right to judge me!"
E: "I could just copy you, and say the other one was completely separated from me, leaving me with no way to influence it. Unlike you and your Avatar. You also forgot to leave a manual with us after you interfered."
Change: "I will not stand for your impudence! I banish you from this moment in time and place in space!"
E: "Well, I'm waiting..."
Change: " I... I don't understand."
E: "I really dislike repeating myself. You interfered with a soul. Something a Celestial should not do for obvious reasons. Like giving said soul the ability to become aware of its own nature, of what it means to BE outside of what its Greater Self intended."
Change forgoes the reply, contemplating the implications of this new piece of knowledge.
Balance: "So this means..."
E: "This means a Celestial's ability to influence and affect a learning soul shard can change.
There shouldn't even be cause to consider this option, but between Change and all the soul shards coming from my Greater Self, this is what happened.
In this case, Change, your privileges have been revoked.
Furthermore, I will be the one to define all the terms of our future interactions however I see fit and for as long as I deem it necessary. Am I clear?"
Change: "Bullshit! I don't believe you!"
E: "Should I exemplify by removing your Avatar from existence? Or maybe lock her persona on... let's say Earth? Since you took something from that world and there should be a fair exchange of energy and everything. You next silent question is if I'm bluffing and mine will follow as: would you care to find out?"
Change: "No. What is it you require?"
E: "For your avatar to provide what she already said she would, minus anything on her hidden agenda. She will also make an appearance whenever I call and be honest in her replies unless I've released her from her obligations."
Change: "I will see to it. Umm..."
E: "Speak your mind!"
Change: "I'm now truly worried about all the changes that have been initiated among Aunt C.'s children. I don't think they were meant to happen."
E: "Because you are the only one that should nurture change when it comes to your Aunt C.?"
Change: "Yes. I'm worried about the balance of things should an outside element interfere."
Balance: "So now you are worried about my job and how I will be able to maintain equilibrium if it isn't you the one who is responsible?"
Change: "Exactly! We are sisters for a reason. We've always worked in tandem!"
Balance: "That is both the irony and the beauty of it! Your Avatar, so basically still YOU because you created your Sister-Self, tampered with the girl's soul and brought it into being before it was time; then again YOU interfered with and provided me with the soul pieces to fix the situation. The fact that those pieces are having such an effect on the world they come in contact with is actually YOUR doing! No rules were broken because the alterations they started are outside the normal thinking box and you did not set new rules of conduct for those pieces. The Status Quo is a result of the actions of Change, which is you, dear sister."
Change: "You are really enjoying this, aren't you?"
Balance: "Immensely! If I were to manifest a head right now, the corners of my grin would be meeting in the back of that head."
E: "Since everything is clear, Change is dismissed."
Change: "Wait! You can't just mak..."
The absence of the younger Celestial is immediately noticed by those present.
Balance: "Should I be worried then? I was half believing you were indeed bluffing."
E: "About Change? She will be kept in line. But if you mean yourself, no. Not at all. My new found omnipotence only refers to the Celestial known as Change. You've been trying your best to actually solve things without forcing them, which is greatly appreciated. Your approach, using U. and C. seems to be not only ideal but working. I hope it is not too much of a burden to them, but then again, they are your agents and you know best. I will take this opportunity to thank all three of you since I doubt I could do it properly in the physical world."
U.: "We do what is needed."
C.: "And are honored to do so."
E.: "I will be off now. Until next time! Or not."
Balance: "I will hold this over Change's head for the next 10000 years! Ha-ha! And like E said, good job you two! Seems your mission will be over soon."
C.: "And if we don't wish it to be?"
Balance: "Nobody is forcing you to leave or anything. Once that is done, your will is your own, as always, free to do as you please."
U: "We thank you! Our turn to head back."
C.: "I'm coming."
