"And if you'd let me finish my sentence, I would appreciate it! For what he knows, he is a better trainer than I am, both for human form and wolf form. But he can't be better at something he doesn't know. What did Jena answer him?"

"Oh, first name basis with the Alpha, are we now?"

"And here I thought I was talking to a dear friend and it was OK to talk like that!"

"Aww, you're so sweet! So I'm a dear friend to you?"

"Didn't I call you my little sister on several occasions already?"

"Well, yeah, but you could have meant annoying little sister, you know?"

"Sometimes you really are. But yes, I consider you a close friend!"

"And you are one to me too! Oh, yeah, the Alpha ordered him to mind his own business and bugger off! You should have seen him! He was furious! I don't think the Alpha ever spoke to him like that before."

"Seems this war, the pack she cares for and the responsibilities it comes with have boosted her confidence as an Alpha."

"If only she was as confident as a mate, you'd have no chance of resisting."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"She's giving you way too much room to be annoyingly indecisive. With what I've come to know about mates and how they influence and react to one another... let's just say if you were my mate, you'd be in my bed by nightfall."

"Well, aren't you confident!"

"Either that or running for the hills. Though I'm 98 percent sure you'd be choosing the bed. Trust me, I know things know that would shatter your world. Things you wouldn't even dream of."

"Oh...Kay..., I don't really know how to argue with that."

"Let me put it this way: you know how this war-form could change our world forever, right? How it could tip the scales of this war in our favor?"

"That is why I'm training you after all."

"Same order of magnitude, but between mates."

"Really?" Al'Aeen asks pensively.

"You're contemplating it aren't you? I can see it on your face. So why don't you do something about it?"

"Because I just can't! It's not right! And it's also very complicated with everything going on!"

"Bah! Excuses! This is the part where you would deflect by bringing the focus back to training. Let me guess! For our fifth day, we have... shifting. At least it's to war-form."

"Sometimes you're too damn smart for your own good!"

"I get that a lot lately!"

"Your mouth is going to get you in trouble, you know that, right?"

"And yet, you keep doing it!"

"I'm huge and turn into a bear, almost ten times as heavy as a wolf."

"My fighting trainer and mate is Conall."

"Fair point. Feel free to conduct your own training for today. Seems you already know what to do. One hundred sprints should be fine as a warm-up," he says, waiting for a smart reply from her, but she doesn't answer and starts the sprints right away.

By the end of the day, Vi can successfully shift to her war-form every time, managing to hold the form for two hours before Al'Aeen has her shifting back.
