we apologize
to all the people
that came before
you disapprove of us
you despise of us
you dislike our generation
who is to blame?
we got our first phones
when we were eleven
our faces
are plastered
on every social media
social lives ensues
as we tap away
on a box
with the alphabet on it
news scours our notifications
and we are so ashamed
as to believe every headline
no matter the ridicule
who thought that
nintendos were gonna last forever
when the nintendo
is on our devices
we carry televisions
in our pockets
words get invented
only we know these words
clothes reveal
our insides
powerful than our adults
revolutions alike
generations differ
you may have heard
this infamous quote
"we're in the twenty-first century"
that quote
is to blame
for this abrupt change
of generation
this is the twenty-first century
