This poem is dedicated to one of my best friends, Ruby ;))
glistening in the wind
is a young, priceless
beautiful, sweet
courageous gem
it came across me
as if we knew each other
even though I didn't
her immense beauty
gave me goosebumps
and her shared obsession
made me feel at ease
we just talked
and we never stopped
my mouth is sore
from our deepened conversation
a grin plastered on my face
from a laugh-filled disease
I am content
after clearing up my thoughts
rubies are red
but mine is golden
and rubies are gems
but mine is a human
