•Alec•The broadcast finally stopped. I thought I'd said everything I need to.
"You do know that it was also broadcasted across the institute too, right?" Jace realizes.
"Shit- we gotta go," I run for the door, but my mother is already on the other side, trying to get in.
She opens the door, "Alec, what have you done?"
"Finally said what I've wanted to. Non-scripted."
"You have just promised the one thing we've talked about!"
"I'm giving people hope," I point out, "which is more than you've ever done."
"This isn't happening."
"It's done, mom."

The tour started a month after we sent out the initial broadcast.
"Today is the first day," Jace says as he zips up my hazmat suit.
"I know," I say as I shove my gloves on.
"You nervous?"
"Have I ever been?" I chuckle.
"Well-"
"Shut up and help me," I smile and he grabs some tape.
"You worried about getting sick?"
"Most of them know I deserve it- so no." I say and inspect myself in the mirror.
"We are going to sector 5 today. Critical."
I inhale deeply and start on my way there.

As I arrived at the first room, I look to my side.
Clary, one of our head nurses, is ready to cry.
"Clary," I say, feeling sympathetic for her for the first time.
We were seeing one of her old friends, and from what I could tell, he was going to die, very soon.
She takes a deep breath before pushing open the door.
"Oh my god," An older dark skinned man lay on a bed, skin covered in red blisters.
"Luke!" Clary runs to his side and takes his hand through her glove.
"Clary?" He opens his eyes slightly, before closing them again due to the blisters above his eyes.
"It's me," she says gently, "Alec's here too."
Luke used to work for us until he quit to stay with Clary's mom, Jocelyn. She passed of the sickness soon after, he couldn't come back.
I monitored the few specific people I was meeting with over the security cameras in their rooms. I almost said cells.
We're locking these people up in strange places, knowing most are likely to die, anyway.
