The next thing I see is the inside of a cell.

I struggle to open my eyes, pain erupting through my body with each attempt.

After a while, I finally give up and open my mouth to speak.

No words come out, only a low moan of pain.

Maybe it's the fact that I've barely ever been sick in my life- but this feels like hell.

I hear a noise and try one last time to get my eyes open.

Immediately the artificial light causes my eyes to scrunch up again, but that doesn't stop me.

"H-Help!" I finally get out in a raspy growl.

"Alec- you're okay," Clary's voice says somewhere above me, "I know it hurts, but it'll stop soon."

It feels like years before I finally fall asleep.

When I wake again, I still feel weak, but stronger than the first time.

"Oh look- the beast awakens," I hear a voice say.

I blink my eyes open and lean up against the wall.

The room was exactly like I had designed for Sector 2.

A woman with dark skin and hair in a braid was opposite of me.

"Caterina Loss?" I had met her on my tour of the sectors. She stood out because of her knowledge of health.

"Bingo," she sighs.

"How long have I been out?"

"Well- you were unconscious when they brought you in yesterday," she continues, "But, from what I could tell you'd been out for a while."

I sigh and put my head in my hands.

She laughs, "You really think you have it bad!?"

"I wasn't-"

"I got ripped away from my best friend and my child!" She almost yells, but stops herself, "for all I know they could be sicker than I am and there isn't a damn thing I can do about it!"

"I'm sorry," I get an idea, "tell me about them?"

She looked confused for a minute- but continued, "Well their names are Madzie and Magnus."

Somewhere in my head I remember their names.

"I hope- wherever they are, they're okay and together."

"They are," I say, without even thinking, "I was supposed to visit them."

"What sector are they in?"

"Healthy."

She lets out a sigh and whispers quietly, "thank god."

"So what were they like?"

"What are they like," she corrects, "Magnus is basically the best person ever. He's kind, caring, and has a great fashion sense."

"Sounds nice," I smile, trying to imagine him.

"And Madzie is the most adorable kid you'd ever meet."

I chuckle, "well I'd better meet them sometime."
