"Maddie Ziegler!?" Finn yelled, in disbelief

Millie froze at the mention of the name. She hadn't heard it in so long. Who knew a name could bring so much pain?

"It's been so long! I just got back today! We need to catch up!" Maddie exclaimed, rushing over to Finn and plopping herself in between him and Millie.

"She used to be one of Finn's bestfriends. She moved away last year and I'm guessing she's back now." Sadie informed Millie, not really noticing Millie's change in emotion.

"I know who she is," Millie said in a harsh tone, catching Sadie's attention

Millie looked back to Finn and Maddie, who were talking away.

She wondered if Maddie remembered her.

"Millie!?" A voice suddenly asked, Bringing Millie out of her thoughts.

Crap. Millie thought

"Oh my god! I haven't seen you since our little incident at the hospital." Maddie said, wearing a fake smile.

She knew that Millie could ruin her if she told them what Maddie had done.

Millie tried to dodge any further conversation, turning to Noah who was eyeing her suspiciously

"First day back and you already got detention? Classic Madds." Finn said, laughing along with her.

Madds? I didn't know they were so close!
Millie thought. There was this ugly feeling in her chest.

It wasn't anything she had felt before, the closest thing she felt to this feeling was envy. She envied people who could live their lives normally. She envied Maddie for having long hair and a healthy life.

"Well what are you all doing here? Lets ditch this classroom and go to the gym. Not like they'll notice." Maddie suggested, wanting to get away from Millie.

"Sure." Noah spoke up, feeling the tension in the room.

The rest looked at eachother, trying to decide whether or not to go.  They decided to in the end.

"What do we do?" Caleb asked as they entered the empty gym

Maddie smirked, going to the backroom and bringing out a red ball. "Dodgeball ofcourse."

There was an annoyed sound coming from the teens. In the nicest way possible, they sucked at sports.  Most of the time in class they ended up at the nurse's office.

"Its a rough life out there Mills, on that gym floor." Noah said as they stood by the benches waiting for Maddie to set up the net.

"I don't mean to brag, butttt i'm a pretty darn good player if i do say so myself' Gaten added

"Oh please! last time you ended up at the nurse." Caleb said

"IT WAS A HARSH GAME OK?" Gaten shot back defensively

"IT WAS BECAUSE YOU STUBBED YOUR FOOT ON THE GYM FLOOR. we hadn't even begun to play yet and you were already on your way to the nurse" Caleb shot back

"IT WAS A HARD FLOOR." Gaten yelled

The rest rolled their eyes.

"I hate playing dodge ball. I'm out." Noah said, "Me too." Sadie agreed, sighing and sitting down besides him.

"What is dodgeball?" Millie asked, feeling as though she was the only one who had no idea what the game was.

"You don't know what that is?" Sadie asked.
