This (and only this) chapter is in the point of view of Alex Davon

Surprise!

     "Keep up, bubble gum."

I glance up from my phone, spotting Ivy walking ahead of me. She has a smile on her face as her eyes land on me, before turning back ahead. Even if she hadn't looked over her shoulder, I could tell she was already smiling.

The little hop in her step gave it away.

I find my attention occupied by the mesmerizing sight of her hair. In the sunlight, it literally looks like strings of gold.

It even looks prettier against her red shirt.

A huge red shirt with the words broken heart on the back and-

"Ivy, isn't that my shirt," I find myself saying aloud. Because it was my shirt.

"You finally noticed," she responds in amusement. "I've been wearing this shit for weeks."

I can't help but let out a laugh. "So can I have it back?"

She keeps walking ahead and shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know, can you?"

I tuck my phone into my pocket. "Depends on if you'll give it to me."

She finally stops and turns around, tapping her chin in thought. "Well-"

"Hey!" We hear someone shout. Our eyes land on small little Timmy, standing by the door of his house. "I'm about to start the movie! What took you guys so long? You were literally just buying snacks."

We actually took a while because after we bought a few bags of chips from the dollar store nearby, Ivy wanted to stop by her house and change her clothes. Surprisingly it's not that far from here, but it's a pretty long walk.

"Sorry, Timmy!" Ivy responds, as she jogs the rest of the way to the house.

"So what did you think?" Timmy asks with his hands together on his lap.

I watch the end credits appear on the screen as we finish Breakfast at Tiffany's.

"I loved it," Ivy responds in awe, hugging the pillow in her arms. "That whole movie was so cute."

"So that's how it ends?" I ask aloud. "They kiss in the rain?"

"It's a romantic from the 60s, dummy," Timmy replies with an eye roll. "Of course it ends with a kiss in the rain."

Ivy stands up from the couch. "Well, I'm heading to the bathroom."

Timmy stands up too. "Since you're a guest, I'll show you to the bathroom."

"Timmy," she chuckles. "It's fine, I already know-"
