I type at my laptop, working on the history project.
"Are you almost done?" Margo asks beside me, her eyes staying on her own laptop.
"Not yet," I mumble.
We continue typing away.
"Uh, you guys want a snack or something?"
We look up and see Alex scratching the back of his neck. We're currently in his house while we work on our project. "Order pizza and fries," Margo immediately says.
"Please," I add.
Alex's eyes meet mine, and he gives me a wink before leaving the room.
I can already feel my cheeks heating up, and I quickly look back at the screen before me. Margo nudges my shoulder beside me. "Why are your cheeks red as hell?"
I glance at her and shrug my shoulders. "I- it's kind of hot in here."
She smirks at me. "Mhm."
"What," I laugh.
"You're a good liar."
"Shut up," I tell her jokingly, pushing her shoulder lightly.
A huge grin appears on her face. "Okay, I'll stop."
We never notice Alex walk into the room. "The food will be here in about 20 minutes."
We glance at him. "Oh, okay," Margo says, then turning back to me.
She stretches her arms. "I'm getting really tired," she says, before letting out a yawn. "Wanna take a break, Ivy?"
I nod my head. "Sure."
Margo places her laptop on the little table in front of us and collapses onto the couch. "I want to fucking sleep," she groans.
"Don't sleep in my house," Alex immediately says.
She looks up at him. "Why not, hoe?"
Alex lets out a sigh. "Last time you fell asleep in this house, your sister literally had to come inside and carry you in her car," he says flatly.
She lets out a laugh. "Donyah didn't care. If I fall asleep again, she can carry me to her car."
I let out an awkward cough. "I'm gonna use the bathroom," I mumble.
"Good to know, Ivy," Margo says, resting her head back on the couch.
I make my way through the familiar hallways, trying to find the bathroom door. Once I'm in front of it, I step inside and close the door behind me. I stare into the mirror. I didn't really have to use the bathroom, I just wanted some quiet time.
I pull out my phone, waiting for their conversation to die down. I can still hear them, as they loudly talk about Margo's sleeping ways.
I check on my sister's Snapchat story, seeing that she's currently at Taco Bell with her friends.
"Say it to my face and I'll tell Monroe," I hear faintly outside the bathroom door.
"Fine, Margo. I'll stop," Alex's muffled voice can be heard.
I let out a sigh and exit the bathroom. I walk back into the living room and take a seat on the couch. "Ivy, Alex was bullying me," Margo says tiredly.
"Well, I stopped," Alex says.
"Well, you stopped after I promised not to tell Monroe, asshole," Margo slowly getting up and stretching her arms. At that moment, the doorbell rang.
