I walk beside my little sister, as we both wander through aisles of dresses. "Could you hurry up?" I ask tiredly.
"Wait," she says, her hands checking each of the different dresses she passes. "C'mon, help me pick one. We've been walking here for hours."
I look at my phone. "More like 27 minutes."
"Whatever," she says, never leaving her gaze on the dresses. "I don't know which one to pick."
"And you think I could help you?" I scoff. "Have you ever seen me in a dress, Delilah?"
She finally looks up at me. I stare into her brown eyes, as I wait for an answer. "Actually, no," she finally says, proving my point.
"Exactly," I say.
We continue to walk through more dresses, until I finally knew I was gonna die from boredom. "You know what?" I say. "You stay here and find a dress. You know where to find me."
I turn and walk away, making my way near the men's section. I could use some new hoodies. I check the prices of each one, when something catches my eye.
Oh my god, I need that shirt. Because pizza is everything.
I casually walk up to it, and quickly notice that there's only one left. I almost reach it, when someone else grabs the shirt.
"Um, excuse me," I say, as I approach the person with his back facing me. "I kinda saw the shirt first."
He turns to me and I immediately stop, as my eyes widen. Because I know who he is. He's the guy I've been trying to ignore for almost 3 years now. Damn it.
"Uh hey, Ivy," Alex says awkwardly.
"Hey," I mumble, trying to avoid eye contact.
He scratches the back of his head. "So, what did you want again?"
"Um, the shirt," I say, glancing at it in his hands.
"..For your brother?" He asks slowly.
"Um no," I reply. "I actually want the shirt. For myself."
I watch a smirk literally appear on his face. All of a sudden, he seems amused. "Since when did you wear guy shirts?"
I raise my eyebrows at him, surprised with his quick change of behavior. "Since I found out they're more comfortable than girl shirts."
"Sorry, but I got it first," he tells me, holding it up.
"Please?" I ask. "I think that's the last one."
He looks back to where he grabbed it. "Oh, you're right. This was the last one."
I let out a groan. "Please?"
"Too bad," he says, smirking. "Like I said, I got it first."
I roll my eyes. "Forget it," I say, walking away from him. I go back to the dresses, looking for my sister.

We both walk out of Target, my new hoodie in one bag and Delilah's new dress in the other.
We start our walk back home, since we practically live right across from Target.
"So, what got you looking like you're on your period?" Delilah asks, looking ahead.
"What do you mean?" I ask in reply, keeping my eyes on the ground.
"After you came back from..wherever you were, you literally looked like you were ready to murder someone," she says. "I think you even scared the cashier with your bitch face."
"It's nothing," I tell her, "I'm just really tired."
We make it in front of our house and I unlock the door. Once we're inside, I head upstairs to my room and face-plant onto my bed.
