The Fault In Our Symphony

6. Better Place

My dad picked me up and put me in my wheelchair.

"Is this the wedding you hoped for?" He said

"Yep its all I ever wanted." I said beaming

"You look an awful lot like your mom today kiddo. Smiling beaming shining. I guess that's how people get when they're in love."

"I guess okay let's go walk me down the aisle."

I was outfitted with a white non poufy dress and I was sitting in a wheelchair.

My doctors beamed outside their offices and I smiled.

I got out of the wheelchair I wanted to walk . I pushed myself up.

"Daddy hold my hand please in case I fall."

"I'm right here."

I grabbed onto him as I walked it was painful but I had to do it.

I reached the end and smiled at Kousei. I stood through the ceremony as Tsubaki and Watori held hands. Watori was dressed in a white suit and Tsubaki was dressed in a dress that showed her stomach pouching out a bit.

When we were done we slipped the rings on each other and we kissed.

Everyone applauded. And I smiled at Kousei picked me up bridal style and carried me back to my bed.

After visiting hours were over,I said my goodbyes to my husband. Feeling lonely.

I woke up the next morning beaming at him with a smile.

He told me of his plans to move to America. I decided to go with him.

I was finally released from the hospital and decided to go on a trip with Kousei.

So here we are boarding a plane I feel tired but don't want to tell him I don't want to spoil the fun.

When we arrive in America I start feeling dizzy and plop down on the couch exhausted.

"Kaori you okay?" He says worriedly

"I-im fine just a little tired is all."

"You could have told me."

"I'm sorry I worry you to much don't I."

"Yeah you do." He kissed my head and lays beside me.

He puts his arm and around me and I put my head on his chest. His heartbeat so vital so powerful.

I lay like that for a while.

So tired I don't have any strength to get up and do anything.

He picks me up and carries me to the bed. He tucks me in and I kiss him goodnight.

"Kousei?"

"Yeah"

"I love you. A lot."

"Me too Kaori." And he turns over and puts his arm around me pulling me close.

"You make my world a better place Kousei Arima."

"As you make mine Kaori Arima."

"I gotta get used to that."

"Yep you do."

"Night."

"Night."

I lean over and turn off the lamp and turn his way. He pulls me tightly and puts his arms around me as I stare into his eyes.

I see my life right in front of me.

My journey with him its beginning.

I wake up and look but he's not there. I get up and walk over to the door and open it.

There he is my husband. He's watching TV so I go join him.

We see the news about a comet tonight.

When evening rolls around I follow him outside as he holds me as the star falls he says " Kaori wish on it."

I close my eyes and I open them.

"What did you wish for?" He says

"Now that I have you how about a family?" I say turning my head

"That's one thing I'm good for."

I tackle him as we roll in the summer grass. The stars shine above us as he lays partially on top of me. I kiss him and he kisses back.

" Come on let's take this inside. Don't want to scare the fireflies."

"Yeah." I say dusting myself off and going into the house
