Hey ya! We've reached 1K and this means I'm gifting you with a new short little chapter. I hope you like it! Thanks again! BTW this is all in Kaori's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The heated debate over what our child would be started one day right after I got Rose out of the hospital.
The week started like this I just got home from the hospital, set Dallas and Rose down on the couch, and then joined my husband in the living room to watch La La Land for the one millionth time and to gain snuggles.
Around 12, the kids woke up.
I fixed lunch and had myself an egg sandwich.
Don't blame me, blame the cravings.
Kousei took half my sandwich to which I smacked him gently.
"Geez, love. Its a sandwich!" He said
"But you just took a pregnant lady's sandwich!" I complained aiming to get back my prize
"Fine,fine. You win. Whatever our son wants." Kousei laughed
This made me send an evil glare his way.
"Its gonna be a girl!" I said playfully
"Boy." He debated
This debate was not one I was giving up on.
We had to hold in our arguments as we sat down to dinner with my parents.
Our argument was not fighting but literally pinning one sex over the other.
I stood up and decided to make the news to my whole family crowded around Fourth of July dinner.
Kousei got up with me.
"Alright everyone we have a big announcement!" I said happily
Kousei wrapped his arm around my waist as the group looked up from their food.
"Everyone we're pregnant!" I said and laid a hand on my noticeable bump
That's when Tsubaki choked on her coke.
"Aw that went up my nose!" She said and excused herself
That's when the round of applause came.
With a bunch of congratulations.
Finally our argument would soon be over.
The doctor had said at the next doctor's appointment she would be able to tell the baby's gender.
I was just entering my 5th month of pregnancy and already Kousei had bought new stuff.
"Babe, what is all this?" I asked as he unloaded it from his car
"I have a crib, and tons of other things." He said simply and unloaded it putting it in our spare room
"Besides they'll be here soon." Kousei said
"Oh not fighting today are we" I said
"Nope you don't need to be stressed out besides its a boy I know it." He said proudly
"That's it mister on the couch for you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Thanks for doing this for us. You know how it is having kids in a doctor's office." I said pulling my bag over my shoulder and rubbing my stomach
"You're welcome. You too besides you'll pay me back with watching Autumn next weekend." Tsubaki said
"Well we better get going." I said
"Be careful." She said and hugged me
I hugged back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well you two have a little girl on your hands." The doctor said
"See I was right." I said wiping the gel off my huge stomach
"How was I wrong?" Kousei complained
"You just were." I said pulling my shirt down laughing in my head
"Here help me up." I said holding my hands out
Kousei grabbed one of my hands and used his other hand to pull me up gently.
"Thank you my savior." I smiled
"So wanna keep it a secret till she's born?" I asked
"Yeah let's do that." Kousei smiled and put his hand in mine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course our little girl's birth was nothing of normal but it was okay.
I was so happy that day.
And I knew this wasn't the end of all the hardships, as I held my daughter in my arms for the first time, I knew that this was what my life meant.
Kousei never left my side even when the snow cleared the next day.
We went to the hospital to make sure everything was okay.
Which it was.
Kousei was already bonding with the baby in his arms.
Our little Lilly.
But in that moment it may not have meant much to anyone else but it was everything.
