The Other Sister

Anastasia?

"Anastasia?" I walk up to a figure of a young girl in a hospital bed; she looked so familiar like I've seen her before. Like in a dream, not possible of course, neither mother nor Ivy ever talked about her…

I laid down on the couch across the bed… and woke up the next day. Mother was standing by Anastasia's bed talking to her.

"Mother?" I sit up blink twice.

"Oh darling," mother turns, "I like to introduce you to your sister, Anastasia. Anastasia this is Rose your sister."

"Speaking of…" "where's Ivy?"

"She should be at home." mother responds.

I stood up to go get coffee and snack, "Want anything?"

"No, thanks dear." mother shook her head.

"Okay, well, I'm gonna go look for coffee or something…" I state as I exit the room. Then I noticed Ivy with tears in her eyes as she watch mother and Anastasia through the glass window. I jogged towards her, "You okay?"

She shook her head. "Let's go…" I whisper as I gently pushed her back, leading her to the elevator, but I stopped when I saw Jacinda and Henry in a hospital room and Lucy lying unconscious on the bed.

"Rose!" I turn around to see Roni with a redheaded woman walking towards my sister and I. "What happened?"

I shrugged. I offered my hand to the woman, "Rose Belfrey. Roni's employee's step sister. Nice to meet you…"

"Kelly West. Roni's former business partner." she sighs in a British accent. Her blue eyes were the same shade as mine it sprakled as she our hands touched, "Nice to meet you, Rose."

I was distracted by the woman's eyes and how similar it was to mine that I hadn't noticed Henry was behind me. "Thanks for coming Roni."

"How is Lucy?" Roni asks.

"Stable…"

"And my sister?"

"Scared out of her mind…"

"What happened?!"

"Lucy had gone missing after school and she showed up at the door hours later and fainted."

I turned to Ivy seeing she just wants to go home and die, but Jacinda's daughter is not alright… both my sisters are so broken and I'm terrified I would not be much help.
