It's been months since my sister, Drizzela, had adopted her daughter, Iris, and now Iris is beginning to babble.

"Hey Luc." I greet my older niece as I walk in Ivy's apartment.

"Aunt Sera, hey." Lucy breaths.

"What time does Drizzela get home?" I ask.

"Fiveish." Lucy replies flipping through the tv channels.

"Is mother here?" I ask sitting down beside Lucy on the couch.

"Not yet," Lucy sets the control down. "but she is on her way."

"Great." I nod as I grabbed the remote and turned on Disney's Cinderella.

It was about 4:30 when my sister walks in, Drizzela turns to the tv and frowns, just as her daughter reached up her arms and squeels, "Mama!"

Drizzela smiles as she reaches down to pick her daughter up. "That's right, Iris, I am your mama." she coos.

I smiled at my sister, as my mother and Anastasia walked in. "Need a ride, Luc?" I ask as I stood up.

"Can I stay here, please?" Lucy begs, "I finished my homework… Plus, Aunt Sera has Tangled on her Netflix account and I wanna watch it."

"Of course, she does." Drizzela rolls her eyes.

Mother stared at me, "You do?"

To piss her off I started singing:

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be

And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you

All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

And at last I see the light

And it's like the fog has lifted

And at last I see the light

And it's like the sky is new

And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you

Now that I see you

Making both my nieces giggle. "You have to give me five for that one." Lucy smiles.

I gave her a high five and grinned walking towards my other niece, "Baby high five?"

Iris gurgles and babbles happily.

"Keep making fun of me and I will show you the light." mother chuckles.

Both my sisters gasped. "Well," Drizzela sighs, "that backfired quickly." "Good one mother!"

"I thought you were on my side!" I frown at Drizzela.

"I'll be on your side, Aunt Sera." Lucy smiles.

"Tomorrow when we wake up we are singing…"

"When Will My Life Begin?" Drizzela suggest.

"No!" I gasp, "I was gonna say Me too."

Ivy ran into her bathroom and came out. "I hate you."

"What did I do?" I ask.

"You're on your magical time of the month, aren't you?"

I smile knowing, our periods sync up nodding.

"God, I hate you!" she exasperates, "Did you at least have tampons?"

"Uhh…"

"I bought some." mother tosses a bag for me to catch, "Yeah, Ana is also on her period… How is it that all four of you are in sync… Jacinda is also on hers?"

"That's weird…" Lucy shudders.

"No, that's just plain creepy." I sigh. "Why would you have our period schedules memorize?"

"First of all, I don't… I just know because Ana texted me to buy her tampons and Ella posted weird songs on her social media and said, 'Sorry, period brain'."
