Graduation Day

Four years later...

We all are graduating valedictorians. Drizzy and I are co-valedictorians of Princeton, while Lucy is the valedictorian of Yale. The problem was it was happening all in the same day just an hour difference.

A week before, "Its fine, mother," I sigh on the phone, "you go to Lucy's graduation."

Drizzy walked in, "Is that mother?"

I nodded the response. "Drizzela wants to talk to you." handing my sister the phone.

"I'm putting you on speaker phone." Drizzy sets the phone down on the bed.

"I really want to be there for your girls' graduation." mother sighs. "Why does it have to be the same day as Lucy's?"

"Mother, its alright!" Drizzy exclaims. Then she whispered, "Not like I'm not use to it..."

That one line made me feel uneasy. Drizzela always felt neglected and that was reflected in her comment, she was always pushed aside.

Never having the light to herself. Even in our realm, Drizzela always came last in mother's eyes. After Ana's "death", mother put her anger first, then me, finally Drizzy. It's the reason why I am so lenient towards her. I mean seriously, if it was Ela who had cast the curse my anger would have been flying.

Now it was time for graduation and all that had been swirling in my mind. I didn't even hear the President of the school call the valedictorians for a speech.

"These two young women are sisters and valedictorians, conspiracy?" the president jokes, "I think so..."

Drizzela and I went up to the microphone, I could feel the anxiety that my sister was feeling as she search the audience for our mother.

I, then, caught a glimpse of mother; I smiled at her. I whispered, "She's here."

Drizzy and I delivered our speech about how our time here in Princeton has shaped us.

As the ceremony finished, we ran towards our family. "What time does the train leave?!"

"In two minutes." mother responds.

Drizzy with Gregor and Iris, Ana, mamá, Zelena, Regina, Robyn, Alice, mother, Russell and I ran aboard the train. "Nook and the others are already in Yale." mamá explains.

"Good." I take a deep breath.

The train stopped abruptly. "Ok..." Iris questions. "I know we are on a magic train and we defy time and all but I think the engine is broken."

And it was... "How far are we from Yale?"

"About five miles, why?"

I took off my shoes and started walking towards the distance.

"What are you doing?" Regina asks.

"You wanted to see your grandchild graduate; this might be the only way."

Iris ran to my side, "I like how your mind works, Aunt Sera."

I smiled, as everyone joined the walk. Mother threw her hands up on the air in frustration, as she walked with her arms folded in front of her chest and a frown on her face, heels on hand.

Ana smirked, "Who knew mother would do the Cinderella?"

Mother heard and scowled, "I cannot believe I am actually walking through the streets of Connecticut, barefoot."

I let out a snort, as we were arriving in the gates of Yale, securities were there. Mamá looked at Regina, "What now?!"

Drizzela grabbed my elbow and whispered, "Can you..."

I shrugged her grip and glared at her. I walked up to the security and just starred at him for about ten seconds.

"Come right in, please." he gestures as he opens the gate and let us in.

Both mother and mamá starred at me in shock.

Anastasia, Drizzela, Regina, and Zelena all smirked in amusement.

"Oh you, two, didn't know... Rose has the magic of persuasion." Regina smirks.

I walked towards the bleachers and sat down, I was in no mood to discuss what my tactics of persuasion is. Everyone soon followed. "Lucille Olivia Mills!" they called.

All of us started clapping, and whistling making my poor niece hide her face. After her speech of how she did not have a conventional childhood she wouldn't change it for the world. Her childhood and her family has made her who she is— her words not mine— and she just wanted us to be proud of her.

I can't speak for the rest of my family but I am very proud of Lucy, she was the one to pave the way for breaking the curse.
