Emerald P.O.V.

It’s been three days since Slendy came back.  In that time I’ve asked him all sorts of questions, but it’s weird; He hasn’t answered any of them, even the simple ones.  I mean, trust me when I say I’m glad he’s back, but he’s been gone for 5 years and I want answers!

As I lie on the couch and, absentmindedly, listen to the television running in the kitchen, I pick up the phone and dial Alyse’s number.  I hadn’t talked to Alyse in at least a year and a half, but I need to talk to someone other than Slendy!  Alyse had left for college the same year I did, but she stayed.  She wanted to become a Doctor from a young age, so she was saving up for college for a long time.  I never thought I would even go to college until I decide to try saving up about 2 month before I was done with high school.  With that, being as it was, I barely made my way through college until I just couldn’t pay for it anymore, which forced me to dropout.

The longer it rang, the bigger my nervousness became.  Finally, I heard a voice on the other end.  “Hello?  Who is this?”  I swallow and answer in a nervous voice, “H-Hi, It’s Emerald.” There is a short silence before I hear a muffled squeal. “Emerald!?  Oh my goodness!  I haven’t talked to you in so long!” I sigh in relief; glad that she wasn’t angry at the lack of conversation we had the last year and a half.  “How are you doing? Is college going good?” “Yeah, it’s great!  It does get pretty hard at times, but I’m doing okay!  How are you doing? Has anything interesting happened with you lately?” I smile to myself as I think about the last couple days.  “Actually, something has happened, which is why I called you. By the way, I’m so sorry for not calling in such a long time! It’s just that…., I’ve had a lot on my mind lately.”  I knew it was a bad excuse, but it was the truth.  Many times I would think about calling her, but then my mind would go elsewhere and I would get distracted.

“It’s okay! I haven’t called you at all, so it’s partly my fault too! So, what did you want to talk to me about?” This was one of the many examples that Alyse was a good friend and person.  She said she was partly to blame, but she was busy with college.  She had a much better reason for not getting a hold of me than I did.  “Yeah, well… I guess you could say I’ve been having boy troubles.” I laugh at myself for sounding like a kid, but what I said was true.  “Oh goodness, you’re still having boy trouble?!  A beautiful young woman like you doesn’t deserve boy trouble! So, who is this trouble maker?”  “Well,” I say hesitantly.  “You see, this boy I haven’t seen in 5 years came back to me and I was so excited.  I waited all that time for the man I love to come back and I had a lot of questions!  Once we got to my house, I started asking questions, but he would always just flat out not answer them or just dodge the question.  I’m starting to get annoyed Alyse!  He’s gone for 5 years and when he finally comes back, he won’t answer any of my questions!” I sigh out of annoyance once I finish.

There was a short silence on the other end before she answers.  “You know, that’s really weird.  Do you think maybe he was having an affair or something?”  I thought about it.  I mean, it was a possibility, but Slendy didn’t seem like the kind of person to do that kind of thing.  Also, wouldn’t he have been busy with the Slender Hunters?

“I’ve thought about it, but I don’t think he’s the kind of person to do that.” I heard a sigh on the other end.  “Well, do you know where he is right now?” “Out getting groceries.” I lied.  He told me he had to go get something to eat, but I still don’t know what he eats.  I asked him one time and all I got for an answer was, “Not human food…” With that in mind, it made me wonder if he got his nutrition from something that would make my stomach turn.
