Emily glanced up lovingly towards Peter and giggled. He smiled softly at her, before a question popped into his head. "Do you think we should...?" He asked gently. Emily glanced downwards, shaking her head, already knowing what he was going to say. "Even if my parents cared enough, this would still be a tough pill for them to swallow." Then, she looked up and smiled Peter, holding her arms behind her head. Then, she gave his nose a playful smack. Peter laughed and wrinkled his nose. "...This is so exciting." He sighed, running the back of two fingers over her tummy. Emily placed her hands over Peter's fingers and held them gently to her stomach "I can't wait until we get to meet this kid, you know? Until we both get to chance to hold them, let it see their parents faces finally." Peter agreed enthusiastically, wondering where they would be in nine months' time. "If it's anything like you, they'll probably be running a little late." He teased. Emily rested her folded arms against the middle of the bridge of  Peter's nose and leaned against him with a tricky grin "If this kid's anything like me, you'll have two people crawling all over you." "Mm. However will I ever manage?" he asked sardonically. Whenever Peter opened his mouth against her moist, hot air seeped through the fabric of her shirt. A small shiver found Emily's spine when his speech rattled through her bones and his breath washed over bare skin beneath a shirt that stood no chance as a barrier. Suddenly Emily slipped past his face and into his shirt. "Sweetheart?" Emily smirked after recovering from rolling down his back a small ways when Peter had moved his shoulder. An idea struck her and she cackled, pulling out a Peter sized pin before jabbing the tip into his back. Peter let out a sharp yelp, arching his back when a sudden stabbing coursed through a pinpoint of his skin. He felt Emily tumble away form the spot a ways. "Emily..." He grunted, a playful smile alighting his face.  He immediately reached behind him and under his shirt, searching for her. Even though she tried to keep her location a secret, her tickling his skin gave her away as his hand collected her up. "Looks like I win, love." Peter said, kissing her gently. She was tipped into both cupped hands, brushed by a pair of pillowy lips and a course chin.  "Any kicks today?" He brushed a thumb over the proud baby bump on her stomach. "A couple." A reverent expression found the proud serenity of a mother's smile and Emily as she leaned in to kiss Peter back, taking a bit longer than she usually would out of a desire to make up for time spent in other affairs. "Hold your thumb here." She reached up and lightly pressed the digit to her middle and waited to see if their little one would say hello. She felt movement and she gave a fond laugh. "Knows it's daddy. It's saying hello." Two distinct, minuscule protrusions against the pad of his thumb- kicks. Peter's awe for the miracle of pregnancy did not diminish. "Hey, little one." He spoke with a breathless smile. He raised his eyes to Emily's. "Probably knows me because I get such a reaction out of it's mommy... What do you think it will be, a boy or a girl?" " I've always really wanted a little girl, but as long as the baby's healthy, I don't care about it's gender." "Soon enough," He leaned his cheek gently against hers. "That will be our reality." "We'll see him or her soon." Emily pressed herself against Peter's face, burying her own in his cheek. "Just a few more months is all and by then, we'll have our sweet little bundle in our arms." "That's the goal." His murmured replied reverberated through her entire body. Loving fingers curled inward to caress the bearer of his child.
