"Emily, will you stop day dreaming?"
Those were the only words that woke the seventeen year old girl. The teacher, Ms.Charles, would always shout out at her. She would always be dozing off in her class, not paying attention. She was the smallest girl there, with long dark blonde hair. She would never bother to take any interest in her class. Perhaps it was because she was the oldest teacher in this all girl school. All she knew was to mind her own business. At that time she was young, full of imagination. After class was dismissed Ms. Charles called her name. "Emily Jefferson, may I have a word with you?" She's never been talked to after class by a teacher, she shrugged and walked towards her. Behind all those wrinkles, she knew she had a concerned look on her face. "Ms.Jefferson, why do you always tend to doze off in my class? Do you normally do this in all the other classrooms?" She seemed really concerned for no reason. She didn't know why this old lady is making a big fuss out of this. This was getting really annoying. what was the issue?
She hope she would believe the awful lie she just told her. She wasn't really good at talking herself out of problems. Ms. Charles had a tense look on her face. "I will not tolerate this rubbish! Ms. Jefferson, I will send a note today to your parents! You may leave." She was nervous. No, nervous was an understatement. She was terrified What would her mother think? As she walked out of the building, it started to rain. She moaned and used her folder to cover her head. She ran not paying attention, too sad to look both ways before crossing the street. Her plaid skirt was already soaked and drenched. She was day dreaming again. Day dreaming while walking? Is that even possible? She went into deep thought, and didn't realize she stopped in the middle of the street. Suddenly, she heard loud car horns beep in her face. She was startled and jumped up. Shr ran as fast as she could home. She really couldn't stand the cold weather. She lived on Bloomsbury street, London so cold humid weather is casual here. As she got home she heard her parents arguing. Again. Not wanting to be in the middle of a screaming match, she tip-toed up the stairs as quietly as she could so they wouldn't hear her. Minutes passed and she heard some footsteps. They were getting louder until it stopped. Her door knob was shifting back and forth. She quickly jumped on the bed and grabbed her math book, pretending to do homework. "Emily! How long were you up here? We got a letter from your teacher."her eyes widened, and her heartbeat went pounding faster and faster. "Yes mother. I've been dozing off in class." Emily whispered. Her brown eyes stared directly on Emily's blue eyes. "Emily, if you don't shape up by tomorrow, I'll send you to your grandmother! Do you understand. Oh for Christ sake! This is the second letter I've gotten this week! You need to grow up!" She slammed the door shut with a sickening bang."But I don't want to grow up." She whispered. She hated everything at this point. She sat by her window. She would rather be anywhere else right now. She put on her pajamas and went back to her window. The sky was so vivid. She knew she had the best view of London. Big Ben seemed to glow from here. The stars were shining upon her. Seems like her own paradise. Before she knew it, she fell asleep.
