Chapter 34: I Want To Kill Him

"Alex I need to tell you something"

"Yeah what is it?" He asks.

"Can we go someplace quiet?" I ask him

"Of course" He drives off.

I don't say a word to him on the journey to wherever we are going. I soon realise there's no going back from this. I have to tell him today. I feel like I can trust him enough with this. I have to trust him.

Alex drives to a different type of park where no one is present. I jump out of the car with great difficulty and Alex helps me walk to a large tree with a lot of shade. We sit down under the tree.
I take a deep breath.

I can do this.

"Well Sophia. what did you want to tell me?"
Alex asks.

"Alex before I tell you, I just want you to know that you're the only other person other than Hannah who knows this and I really am trusting you here"

"Okay..."

"Remember how when we went to the water sports thing and on the way back you said that we both have secrets?"

"Yeah..."

"well the reason why I am so uptight, why I get upset so easily and why I get all uncomfortable when I'm touched is because of Tyler" I say quietly.

"Tyler your boyfriend?" He asks..

I nod.

"Alex, before when we started dating he was such an amazing person. He was the guy any girl could want and he made me so happy" my eyes start to tear up. "And one day, I d-don't, I don't know what happened but one night he was really angry and he—" I start crying.

Alex holds my hand just the way he did when he initially found out about Evan and I feel safe.

"He just hit me. I don't know why. He just did. And since then it's just been a vicious cycle. That's why I never let anyone meet him because if he found out about you" I start sobbing uncontrollably.

I lean my face into Alex's chest and just let out all my sadness. He wraps his arms around
me and I continue to cry. He doesn't say anything. He just lets me cry.

I pull away after a while and I look at him. He has the biggest shocked expression on his face. Then I see a slight rage in his eyes. I look at his hands and his fists are clenched tightly.
"That... bastard" he says whilst gritting his teeth.
I look at him worriedly and he forgets his rage and looks at me with such affection.
"Sophia. I'm sorry but I can't let you go back to him. You cannot go and stay in the same dorm as him. He is absolutely awful. I want to kill him" he says angrily.

"Alex I can't do that. He left a note saying he was doing to be away for a while but He's going to know that I am missing. I know he will find a way. I have to go back" I protest

"No. You cannot go back. You can stay with me and Mason for a while. Whatever happens. I'm not letting you go back" I look at him with such admiration and I wrap my arms around him. I know he is not going to listen so I just agree with "Alex please don't tell anyone" I beg him.

"Your secret is safe with me" he smiles at me.

I rest my head on his chest and just take in his scent of cologne. I forget all my worries for a second.

I feel so different.
