I change and change
I learn and learn
I grow and grow
Just to be told that I never changed
That I never learned
That I never grew
So how does that make me feel?
It makes me feel inadequate
It makes makes me feel like all my hard work was for nothing
Sure I still harbor some sadness from the past because of how severe it was
But I am not that same distraught girl
You have to look in my eyes and see that they sparkle much different than before

I'm always trying to decrease my wounding
It is something I practice all the time
So don't tell me that I never changed
That I never learned
And that I never grew
Just because you aren't aware doesn't mean evolving isn't occuring
Instead of expecting a shift in me, maybe you should shift and let go of the limited perspective you have
