Park Jimin pokes at the skin on his hips as he stares into the old mirror.
The wood on the frame is antique and falling apart, and it looks like a piece of furniture that has been sitting inside an old lady's house for decades. And that's why Jimin loves it so much.
His dorm is modern and quite up to date. Yet the mirror inside of Jimin's bedroom reflects a different time of existence.
He only wishes that he actually enjoyed looking at his reflection. Especially on mornings like these, where a darker part of his mind swears he has gained a little non-existent weight.
He sighs, his bottom lip protruding into a childish pout.
"You worked out yesterday," he says to his reflection, fingers still poking at his bone. Pep-talks like these are common, and he speaks to himself often. "You look good. Your pants fit just fine..."
He pulls at the waistband and measures the space between the fabric and his skin with his two fingers.
"It's a perfect size...you're over-reacting,"
He runs his hand down his chest and flexes the muscles on his stomach as he does.
"You always worry. Stop worrying, okay?"
Jimin slips into his button up shirt. It fits him well and he's quite beautiful regardless of the fact that he has to convince himself every morning. He shakes head and adjusts his tie. He ruffles his hair and flattens out the wrinkles in his shirt.
"You can do it. You got this. This job is already yours, okay?"
He gives his reflection a smile for practice. He leans forward so his nose brushes the mirror and picks at his teeth. He reaches into his pocket and applies a layer of chap-stick.
"Don't talk too much. Agree and nod your head. Share your passion. A strong handshake. That's all you have to do,"
He grabs a small briefcase from the chair and stands up straight to acknowledge his reflection with his entire outfit complete. Jimin looks different than what he's used to. The business-like man staring back at him seems like a character from a book he's never read.
He doesn't recognize himself at all.
"Everything is going to be just fine,"
With one last look at himself, Jimin sighs and leaves his bedroom. He flicks off his light and exits the dorm.
At the sound of the front door shutting behind him, the surface on the mirror gently ripples.
