Why do I let you get to me?
Perhaps it's my hyper-sensitivity
Too much has happened
In too little time
That I take your negativity
As a personal crime
Just a few little words
And my stomach churns
You say them so carelessly
If you walked another's life
You may discover there's
No need, not to be nice
There's always a better way
I can't help you with that
You're beyond my reach
But if you don't have
Anything good to say...
I'll let you fill in the blank
I have you to thank
For jumping my anger meter
Once again.
I never use to feel this way
But it becomes harder
Each and every day
My world becomes
a little more lost
As I'm continually tossed
I can't catch my breath
I can't get a break.
So the least you can do
Is be nice
For Christ's sake.
