it's been awhile

Denim jeans
Crazy socks
What does it mean?
Who I am,
does it show?
Fun loving,
comforting
I guess so.
But I know I'm so much more
Don't even look before
Heading out the door.
Feels like such a chore.
Which is why
I'm such a bore.
I dream of dresses
I dream of lace
Of romantic, flowing
Creations of grace
Of times and places
Long forgot
When women were women
Cherished and sought
But for today
It's a t-shirt and jeans
And a pair of
Pegasus Unicorn Kitty socks
It seems.
