"Yoongi?"
"Yeah?" Yoongi turned away for a while before looking at her again.
"Answer the question. What about your girlfriend?"
The man sighed and leaned closer to her. "I know I should've told you this long ago."
"What?"
"We broke up."
"When?"
He scratched the back of his head and looked away again.
"When, Yoongi?"
"A couple of months after our wedding."
She frowned. "Then where did you go all those nights away?"
"I was either at work for a case, or at the hospital for dad."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Then I'd have to explain where I was going and I didn't want to worry you with dad's condition at that time. You had baby to worry about."
It all made sense. The guilt she saw, the late nights away, the reason why he had been here every single day for the past week since his father passed away.
So Ra gritted her teeth before lifting her cushion up to smack him hard numerous times between her words. "You. Made. Me. Worry! I. Thought. You. Really. Wanted. The. Divorce! Do. You. Know. How. Miserable. I. Was?"
"I'm sorry! Wait! Ouch! So Ra! Baby might wake up!"
She stopped and glanced quickly at her infant child and breathed out when she saw baby was still sleeping soundly.
"I'm sorry, okay? I wanted to tell you but I didn't want you to know about dad. You had plenty enough on your plate and I didn't want to add more."
"Always add more to my plate, Yoongi. I like my plate full. Both literally and figuratively."
Yoongi chuckled. "I get it." He reached for her hand. "I won't keep secrets from you anymore. I promise."
She let him pull her into his embrace and So Ra breathed in his warmth and scent of expensive cologne and fabric softener.
"I love you, Kang So Ra. I want to stay married to you. I want you to be the face I see every morning with your hair all over the place."
So Ra frowned at that 'compliment'.
"I want to have the late night conversations that you wouldn't even remember, So Ra. I want to cook for you. I want to stay with you and baby under one roof. I want to raise baby together with you. I want all of that."
"That's pretty selfish of you."
"I need to keep up with your selfishness."
So Ra laughed softly and held him tighter. "I love you too, Min Yoongi."
"So Ra,"
"Hmm?"
"Can I kiss you?"
She grinned. "Yes."
Yoongi leaned closer, touching the tips of their noses together, and So Ra shuddered when his breath brushed against her lips.
Heart thumping, So Ra came closer for the final contact, to finally feel his lips on hers again after so many years. The peck they shared on their wedding day was short, distant and cold.
A squeak and a wail came half a second later, leaving both So Ra and Yoongi to chuckle out their frustration as they touched their foreheads.
"This can wait." She whispered.
"We have a lifetime." Yoongi got up and kissed her head, before walking up to his daughter, picking her up and held her close. "Hello there, baby."
He smiled so wide, So Ra had to hold back her tears.
"So Ra,"
"Yes, Yoongi?"
"Is the surname Min easier?"
She groaned. "It's more difficult!"
