"Is everything okay baby?"

So Ra winced at the endearing pet name. She didn't grow up with affectionate parents. Everything in her life was through protocols, so any sort of affection from her mother would make her feel uncomfortable. "Yeah. Everything's okay mom."

"How is everything? The baby?"

Turning to look at her mother in law, So Ra smiled and tried to keep it as sweet as possible. She couldn't help but feel guilty at the woman. "The baby's fine." She turned back to her mother before continuing, "It's a girl, by the way."

So Ra saw the slight drop in her mother's expression and she had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep herself from grinning.

"That's lovely, dear! She's going to be pretty just like you."

The pregnant woman watched her mother in law closely to see any hint of sarcasm.

To her surprise, there wasn't.

Either Yoongi's mother was truly happy or she was just that good in acting.

"How did the mothers' circle go?"

So Ra looked up from the TV to Yoongi who had just came in from work.

She was still on medical leave from the morning sickness, but So Ra couldn't help feeling bored and useless when she stayed at home. "Mothers' circle?"

"The gathering of mothers."

So Ra laughed. "It was okay. Mom seemed pretty disappointed."

Yoongi sat next to her and So Ra instinctively leaned closer. "She was probably just surprised."

"Why do you do that, Yoongi?"

"Do what?"

"Say nice things about mom and dad."

"That's because they're still your parents, So Ra. I might like to argue with you sometimes—"

"—All the time"

"—fine, all the time, but I still respect the elders."

"Aren't you wonderful?"

"Wasn't that why you liked me years ago?"

"Was it? I seriously can't remember why I dated you."

"I don't either. Heck I don't even remember why we broke up."

"I think it was because we just stopped communicating. And blamed each other for it."

"I hate texting and calling."

"Me too."

"We're married now though. I guess we're probably just bad at dating."

"No Yoongi. You're bad at dating. Me? I'm just selfish."

Yoongi chuckled while turning to look at her weirdly for her odd statement. "You're not selfish. You're strong-willed."

"That's nice of you."

"So Ra,"

"Hmm?"

"I've just realized something."

"What?"

"I think we were never meant to date."

Her heart dropped.

"I think," Yoongi smiled softly, "we were meant to be married."
