"Please just talk to me

"Please just talk to me." Jacob pleaded once again. For the past couple of days, Kayla kept her distance from Jacob as well as the Pack. Her brother had kept her updated on the training and made sure she was staying in control but he knew how hard it was for her to be away from Jacob. He didn't like seeing her hurt but this was something she needed to deal with and go through herself and he'd stand by her no matter what.

Kayla shook her head, "There's nothing to say. You said what you wanted and I'm not your second choice. I deserve someone that loves me and doesn't turn his back on me. I can't do this."

Jacob fell to his knees, "Please don't walk away. I know that nothing I say is going to make a difference but I need you. Not just because you're my imprint but because you make me happy. You see me for who I am and not just someone that can make you feel better. I'm a coward, I know but I'm scared. Scared that you'll find someone better and leave me. Scared that I can't give you what you want. Scared that I can't give you the happiness you deserve. Nothing is going to make up for what I said, but I hope you can find it in your heart to at least try and talk to me. I will be whatever you want me to be but please don't shut me out."

Kayla took a deep breathe to keep the tears at bay, "I don't want to forgive you but I know I can't keep doing this to myself. One chance, and then I'm done. I can't keep putting other people's happiness before mine. I'm important too and I need you to understand that."

Jacob looked up at her with tears in his eyes, "One chance is all I ask for. One chance."

"Good, because that's all you're getting."

"I see someone finally decided to come over

"I see someone finally decided to come over." Kai teased as he walked into Emily and Sam's living room, where Jacob and Kayla had taken refuge for a few hours to talk. They knew they had issues to talk about and it would take them a while to get past what happened.

Kayla rolled her eyes, "You're lucky I love you."

"I most certainly am." Kai smirked as he sat on the other side of his twin sister, while Jacob rested his head on her lap.

"Bella?" Emily spoke from the kitchen, resulting in Kayla, Jacob and Kai looking towards the door where the brunette was standing awkwardly.

"Hey, I was wondering if it's okay to spend the day here?" Bella asked softly. Charlie has gone fishing with Billy and staying at home alone didn't really appeal to her, especially not with the redhead out there. The only place she could think of was the Pack house.

Kayla smiled at the brunette, "Of course. Come in."

Everyone was slowly warming up to Bella now that Jacob wasn't chasing after her. It hadn't been her fault that she had fallen in love with a vampire, he really should have thought of the consequences when he first approached her. Kayla and Bella had bonded rather quickly and Jacob was glad that they had gotten a long as they both meant a lot to him.

"How are you holding up?"

Bella sighed, "I'm getting there. I'm starting to realise that I'm more than the relationship that I had with him and part of me also realises that I depended on him too much. It wasn't healthy. I'm talking to my friends again and slowly getting to know Charlie better. I know I haven't been fair to him since I moved her and I do enjoy spending time with him. Jacob has been a great help and I'm glad he's found you, you make him happy." It felt good to get everything out there and Kayla just had a way of making her feel comfortable without trying.

"I'm glad. Jacob's told me how much you were struggling so it's good to hear your putting yourself out there and taking care of yourself. In order to love someone else, you need to learn to love yourself." Kayla reminded her.

Bella beamed in happiness, "That's actually some pretty good advice."

"I know." Kayla giggled.

"What are you two ladies talking about?" Jacob questioned confused as he laid his head on Kayla's lap. She pressed a soft hand to his cheek and caressed softly.

"None of your business."

"Yeah, what she said."
