Chapter 18 "The murder strikes again"

"WHAT!" exclamied icebreath "s-she can-she coul-she wouldn't do that..would she?"

"she's a murder" said pinecloud in a raspy, low voice.

"I-I don't belive you!" shouted icebreath "she'd never do something like this, not mousepelt"

Pinecloud looked at icebreath "looks can be deciving icebreath, a lesson you must learn"

Icebreath hissed at the medicine cat and stormed off. she walked inside the nursery and saw tigerkit, darkhearts son, and deathkit ,darkheart's daughter, play fighting. hawkkit went running up to his aunt.

"hi icebreath" he said poitely.

"hi hawkkit" she said looking at him, he looked almost like his father. mousepelt sat up from her nest and streached.

"what are you doing here icebreath?" she asked as she walked up to icebreath.

"c-can i talk to you...alone" said icebreath looking at clingy mudkit.

"sure" said mousepelt picking up mudkit by the scruff of his neck. she set him down on the mossy bed.

"hawkit and icekit please watch mudkit while i go and talk to icebreath for a few minutes?"

The gray and white kit nodded "sure mama"

mousepelt sighed and followed icebreath outside of camp. they reached the forest and started walking. once icebreath was sure no one would hear them, she sat down.

"so what did you want to talk to me about?" she asked.

"well...."icebreath twiched her tail "pinecloud told me that she thinks that you killed applestar."

"WHAT! no i didn't, why would you think i killed him" yowled mousepelt.

"i knew it wasn't true but, i asked anyway and i know you'd tell me the truth about any thing" said icebreath.

Out of the corner of her eye, icebreath saw a rabbit, so close to them. its a surprise that hadn't scented them yet ,on how close it was to them. icebreath made a leap for the rabbit. before the rabbit knew what was going on, icebreath already had it's neck clamped down in her mighty jaws.

"nice catch" said mousepelt.

"i couldn't turn down an opportunity" said icebreath as they padded back to camp.

"pinecloud, pinecloud"

"what?!"

"i'm going herb gathering"

"in the middle of the night?!...........okay fine moonfur"

"thanks pinecloud"

A few minutes later. Pinecloud heard a twig snap.

"m-moonfur?" whispered pinecloud warily.

A black cat appered in the entrance of the den.

"w-who are you!" demanded pinecloud, rasing on her hackles.

"oh pinecloud, you know too much about.....our plans" said the cat evily "and you have also spilled too much too"

"what do you mean?"

"i over heard you talking to icebreath, good thing she's absolutly clueless about our plans when you about annouced the whole THING!"

"i-i don't understand" said pinecloud "what are theses plans of yours?"

"moonclan will no longer be the peace maker for the rest of the clans" said the black cat flexing its claws "its time that a new POWERFUL leader takes charge"

"so your just going to make war agaist all the clans" yowled pinecloud "where's that gonna get 'ya!"

"well once we defeat the other clans, they surely follow our orders" the cat paused and stared at pinecloud "once their clan leader's, deptudy's, and medicince cat's are dead, then our leader will follow through with his plans"

"w-who's your leader......is mousepelt behind this!" screached pinecloud.

"i'm not saying who our leader is but, lets say that mousepelt was..framed! she didn't do any of this pinecloud!"

the cat leaped on pinecloud pushing her over on her back. "you'll have to think harder on who's behind this but, you'll figure this out while in starclan!"

The cat sliced open pineclouds throat. pinecloud gasped for air. The cat stepped off the dying medicine cat.

"say hi to applesrat for me love"

pinecloud took one last deep breath then.......the she-cat lyied still,dead.

The black cat laughed "who knew applestar and pinecloud were so easy to kill.....now redstar and icebreath to go!" it walked away from the bleeding, dead body of pineclouds.

- this chapter gave me the chills!!! anyway hoped you've enjoied!!! its now turning into a life and death kind of betraly novel. idk how many chapters there are gonna be but, i will say that there will be a cople other books that lead on after this story(if that makes any sense.......well any way that means that i'm going to wirte a second book after this book the first one!!) please comment, vote and fan me!!!
