Fighting the masked man (Part 2)

Asta's POV

'Then that makes you... my rival too.' His words resounded in my head.

The captain of an order of knights... has acknowledged me? Just the simple thought of it made me feel both excited and honoured.

"Good job, Asta! You just got acknowledged! I knew you could do it!" Isana smiled brightly as he roughly ruffled my hair.

Isana~♡ My chest tightened up as I stared at the gorgeous white-haired boy. Ahh, how nice it would be to taste those plump cherry lips... WAIT! ASTA! WAKE UP! ISANA ALMOST DIED DUE TO YOUR INCOMPETENCE!! YOU MUST WORK HARDER FROM NOW ON!!

"OHHHHHH!! THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO BE DISTRACTED! I CAN GO ANOTHER 12 ROUNDS!!" I screamed in an attempt to shake off my thoughts.

"Not a chance." Both Isana and Fuegorean karate-chopped my head. I crouched down and rubbed the spot they both hit simultaneously. Ow... T^T

"A warrior must always be aware of their body so they can determine whether or not they're in fighting condition. Right now it would be a total lie to say that you can fight. Toughness might be your calling card, but you need to be calm as well! Especially if you're aiming to be the magic emperor." Fuegorean stated.

"He's right, Asta. You need to take more care of yourself. Come, I'll heal you." Isana nodded as he casted his magic onto me. As he was healing, I noticed that there was a red smudge around his lips. Don't tell me...!

"Isana! Are you internally injured?!" I cried out.

"What? No! I just accidently bit my tongue. No worries." Isana shook his head before revealing a thumbs up.

Dammit... I need to grow stronger. How can I be a magic emperor when I can't even protect my loved one...

"What are you guys after? There's no pattern to your invasion, it only looks like mindless terrorism. Who are you guys?!" Fuegorean's powerful voice grabbed my attention.

"*sigh* My name is Radess, 6 years ago I was the top recruit in the magic knights."

"Are you serious?" Fuegorean asked in disbelief.

"I don't expect you to remember... I was nothing more than dirt to the likes of you." The masked man, Radess, glared.

"Who would someone with as much talent as you do this?" Fuegorean furrowed his eyebrows.

"Because I was forced out! They bitched out saying my magic was dangerous... And because I was of common birth, no one stood up for me and I was abondoned by both the knights and this kingdom! Despite my talent being so much higher.... Even higher than the nobles.... Mana is everything... ISN'T IT?! Now my goal is to use this power of mine to get revenge... On the magic knights, and this kingdom whom forsook me!" The masked man grabbed and pulled his long hair as he yelled out his evil plans.

"Such a childish reason... YOU KILLED PEOPLE FOR THAT?!" Fuegorean snapped at Radess.

"'Childish'...? Listen to yourself... Who's being naive now? Reasons are best when they're simple." Radess creepily chuckled.

"LEO!!" Fuegorean called out to his brother.

"Yeah?" The oranged-haired boy responded.

"Do you need my help?" He asked.

"NOT WHILE I'M STILL BREATHING!!" Leo furrowed his eyebrows.

"THAT'S WHAT I LIKE TO HEAR!! SINCE YOU DON'T NEED ME BUTTING IN, FINISH UP ALREADY!!" Fuegorean roared.

These brothers are maniacs!! But hey, it would be cool if Isana and I did that... Snap out of it, Asta!!

I slapped myself a few times and focused on our current situation.

"You're asking too much of him! In terms of elements he's at a sore disadvantage! But, it's not like I was goimg to give you the chance to help him..." Radess suddenly went silent at the sight held in front of him.

'Fireform: Leolzenith!'

The flame magic that Fuegorean casted had the form of a giant ferocious lion. The lion then pounced onto the puny Radess standing in its way.

WOW!! THAT'S SO COOL! My eyes were twinkling in awe. I stared at Isana and noticed that he was also in a trance at the sight. Looks like I need to get stronger to grasp his attention...!

"!" Fuegorean's face slightly twitched.

WHAT?! RADESS GOT OUT UNSCATHED?! IMPOSSIBLE!! A magic barrier along with another zombie mummy surrounded Radess. The magic barrier is that strong...?!My face paled greatly but Isana looked unsuprised.

...Was he expecting it...?

"#1 Carl. Before death, he was amster of defense magic. After death, he's reached greater heights because of my curse powers!" Radess laughed psychotically.

"Asta.. Do you remember what I said to you earlier? Here it is in practice." Fuegorean somehow still managed to keep it cool.

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SHOOTING THE SHIR NOW? CARL CAN DO MORE THAN JUST DEFEND!!" Radess counter attacked by sending magic bullets at Fuegorean.

'Flame form: Ignis Cormus.'

Fortunately, Fuegorean managed to block the attacks that were shot at him. *sighs* Thank god... If he wasn't able to block it then it would've hit Isana and I too.

Hmmm...? Oh, Isana's multi-tasking now, he's healing me and supporting Fuegorean at the same time. Hah~♡ He's so capable...! I gotta work hard to repay him for all the love he's given me...!

"A defensive pissing contest with Carl?! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT? THIS IMPREGNABLE DEFENSE, AND LIGHT SPEED ATTACKS?!" Radess growled, his eyes bloodshot.

"...I can barely lift a finger." He replied.

"HAHAHAHA! IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT? LEADER OF THE CRIMSON LION KING?" As soon as he said that, Fuegorean sent a condensed beam of flame at a specific spot of the barrier Radess put up and shot through his barrier, hitting Carl #1 and burning the corpse to ashes.

Radess widened his eyes in complete shock as he felt his magic corpse burned behind him.

'Flame form: Sol Linear'

"During your attacks, there was alittle gap in your defensive wall, so I broke through it. I face tough magic on a daily basis. Listen up, kids! Know that since you're in an order of magic knights, you'll always have to face off against powerful opponents with powerful magic! But if you calmly analyse your opponent, and have the guts to step in when necessary, you will not lose!! UNDERSTAND?!" Fuegorean managed to not only defeat Radess but also made it seem like a practical lesson about magic.

"YES SIR!!" Everybody's moral increased.

He saw all that in a flash... And even used jt to teach us? Is this what a real leader is like SWEET!

I looked at Isana and saw that he was staring at Fuegorean with twinkling eyes. Oh no...! Don't tell me he fell for him!! NO ISANA!!

My jaw dropped to the ground as I imagined the worst possible case scenarios.

"No way... Carl was beaten this easily...? No way! Bullshit..." Radess' voice trembled as his body slightly staggered to accept the predicament he was on.

"Listen Radess... Whether it's in both talent, or power that you cultivated from zero, without the proper mindset to direct it, its just violence!! AND THERE ISN'T A SINGLE PERSON WHO ACCEPTS VIOLENCE!!" Fuegoreans roar made my soul tremble in both fear and excitement.

Hey guys~ Sorry that I didn't include Isana's POV in this chapter. But I will do so in the next one. I will be updating more frequently since I have a one week holiday from school! Yay!! Finally free from hell! ^-^
