For the past few hours, I had been pulling at the ropes that tied my wrists. I had achieved nothing, but now had a raw line around where the rope had rubbed against my skin. I was about to give up all attempts at escape, when the door to my cell creaked open. A tall, thin man walked in. He had a grey cloth wrapped around his shoulders and wore a straw hat and black mask, which looked a bit like mine.

"Who are you, and what do you want from me?" I asked him as soon as he entered, glowering at him as best as I could from where I was kneeling on the floor.
"My name is Kentaro," The man answered. His voice was quiet and gravelly. "As to why you're here: that's none of your business." He grinned at me as if he'd just said something clever, then he glanced at my wrists. "Been trying to escape? Well, we can't have that now, can we?"

Before I could react, his foot made contact with my chest. The force knocked the breath out of me and threw me backwards. For a while I lay still, tense with pain. While I was dazed, Kentaro walked over to me and swiftly placed his hand on my forehead. As soon as his palm made contact with my skin, I felt weak. What is he doing? It felt almost as if I was being affected by the poison again.
"W...What are you...?" I gasped. I was starting to feel sick.
"Oh don't worry," Kentaro said with an evil smile. "I'm draining your chakra. Does it feel familiar?"
"The poison," I mumbled.
"Exactly. I was the one who made it. It will drain you of your chakra until you die. But don't worry," He added, seeing the alarmed look on my face. "I already gave you an antidote. Wouldn't want our leverage to die, now would we?" With that, he removed his hand from my forehead and, I'm ashamed to say, I collapsed at his feet. If he'd drained me for a second longer, I probably would have died.

Well, at least I know why I'm here, I thought. He called me leverage. They obviously want to trade me for something.
My thoughts were interrupted by a shout coming from behind the prison's door. To my dismay, I recognised the voice. Sayuri.

"WHERE. IS. KAKASHI?!?" I heard her thunder.
"Looks like you have a visitor," Kentaro smiled at me smugly, then dragged me out of the cell. We seemed to still be underground, and it was only thanks to the scarce torches fixed to the walls that I was able to see anything at all. Before me were a couple of dark figures with their backs to us and kunai knives drawn. They were looking at a group of three, at the end of the hall. I recognised them only too well- in front was Sayuri, looking ready to strike. Positioned slightly behind her were Naruto and Sasuke, who were looking at Sayuri, unsure of what to do.

I was dragged into the light and saw Sayuri's eyes glint dangerously behind her mask. For a second, we made eye contact. "What the hell have you done to him?" She growled, throwing a kunai knife at my captor. It missed. Suspicious.

"No fighting," Kentaro said, placing a kunai knife at my throat. "Or he dies. We drained his chakra, so he won't be able to fight back. He's completely at our mercy."
I watched Sayuri carefully. She frowned, then made eye contact with me again. Her eyes flickered to her kunai knife, embedded in the wall. She traced an invisible line to her right hand, then made eye contact with me again, checking if I'd understood. What's the invisible line supposed to mean? I thought. Or maybe...
I nodded slightly, and saw Sayuri's shoulders relax slightly. Then she turned to Kentaro.

"What do you want from us?" She asked.
"We want your necklace." Kentaro replied. "If you hand it over, we'll return your precious boyfriend."
Sayuri stiffened. I could almost see her blush through her mask. "He's not my boyfriend!" Sayuri exclaimed shrilly. She cleared her throat and waited for her blush to fade. Then she continued, more calmly: "He's my sensei. What necklace are you talking about?"
"Don't act dumb," Kentaro sneered. "We know you have it."
"I'm not acting dumb! I have a couple of necklaces, but... Do you mean this necklace?" Sayuri untied the leather string around her neck and held it in the light. Strung on it were a row of gold teeth. A small, silver pendant in the shape of a dragon dangled from the centre. I remembered I had noticed it shortly after meeting Sayuri, but I had never considered it to be of importance.
