Nona found Michael's number online and I invited him over for dinner. I wanted to be somewhere where the girls could rescue me if something went wrong. The house was the perfect place to do that without being weird that they were with me.

Yet she still wanted me to dress up and look nice. She was treating it like any other date night. I was worried he wouldn't dress up. I didn't want to seem like I was desperate.

She tossed a blue shirt at me. "Fine. I'm only trying to help."

I rolled my eyes and picked up the shirt. "You really want me to wear this?"

"It accentuates your boobs."

"I thought God liked modesty."

She shrugged and sat down on the bed. "You need to look nice for him if you're going to spend forever with him."

"If he's the son of the devil, I'm assuming our 'forever' will be reduced to my lifetime."

"Don't count God out. He works in mysterious ways."

I sat down beside her and stared at the shirt. "Thanks for going to so much trouble for me."

She kissed my cheek and patted my knee. "I'd do anything for you, Des."

I changed into the shirt then brushed my hair from my face. "Will you do my make up for tonight?"

She jumped to her feet and clapped her hands together. "It would make me the happiest Fate ever."

Michael arrived exactly one time with a bottle of white wine. He wore a dark suit with a gray tie. He was just as handsome as the last time I saw him.

Nona had answered the door, practically pulling him into the house. She was more excited for the date than I was.

The four of them were talking in the living room when I walked down the stairs, my hair twisted into a neat bun and the boob shirt Nona forced me to wear.

Michael smiled and got to his feet. "So we meet again."

I smiled and walked into the room. The girls were sitting on the couch, leaving me to either stand awkwardly or sit beside Michael.

"How do you know the Fates?"

My breath caught in my throat and I struggled to keep a neutral expression on my face. It was one thing for a normal person to say that but not the son of the Devil.

"We're friends."

He laughed. "Relax, Destiny. I think it's really cool you know them."

"How do you know them?" The date was going from bad to worse. What if he just got all of this information to take back to his dad? This couldn't end well for us.

"My father knows them. I've never met them until today."

"You expect me to believe that?"

Behind me, Morta laughed. "He recognized us almost immediately."

"But his father's the devil." I whispered to her, trying desperately to let her know that this wasn't okay. We couldn't trust him now that he knew the girls' true identities.

"My father may be the devil but I am nothing like him."

"Why should I believe you? I saw you with him twice now."

"We meet in public because I don't trust him. I don't even live with him."

"In Hell."

He nodded. "I live on Earth. Just on the outskirts of town, actually."

"Why did you agree to have dinner with me?"

"Your friends are very persistent. Plus, it's not your fault they're the Fates and my father's the Devil."

I exhaled loudly, my palms getting sweaty. It was one thing for me to know who Michael was but it was a whole different story for him to know who the girls were. All the years I'd spent keeping their identities a secret was just washed away in seconds. And they weren't even mad.

"You don't have to worry about me revealing their secret. The only people that know I'm the son of the Devil are the people who know the Devil."

"That doesn't convince me to trust you."

"I hope you can. I would really like to get to know you better."

I looked at Nona for help. If anyone could talk sense into me regarding a boy, it would be her.

She smiled brightly at me. "Let him stay for dinner. He came all this way and it's already ready."

"Fine." I breathed, heading for the kitchen. It was going to be a long night.
