Someone knocked at the door and I peaked my head around the corner. I was rearranging the bathroom for Michael. Well... he didn't ask me too but I was so bored that I couldn't stop myself. The knocking came again and I knew I couldn't ignore it.

I walked over to the door and peered out the small hole. Nona stood in the hallway with a dark green jacket on, her hair straightened, and black frames. Her eyes were red and she wasn't wearing make up.

I opened the door only enough that I could talk to her but not enough that she could come inside. "You shouldn't be here."

"What happened to you, Des? Michael left me a voice mail and it didn't make any sense."

"Lucifer turned me into a demon."

"He what?" She shoved the door in and pushed me back. I stumbled but managed to stay on my feet. She took my face in her hands and raised it, getting a full look of my dark eyes.

"Michael said only Lucifer can switch me back."

"Then he needs to convince his father to change you back."

"He said he'd only fix me when Michael agreed to go back to Hell."

"Problem solved. We'll just convince him to do with his dad and we'll get you back."

"I don't want him to go. He doesn't want to go."

"You'd rather have him here and you be a demon?" She sat down on the couch and pushed her glasses to the top of her head. "I don't understand you, Destiny."

I sighed and sat down beside her. "None of this was Michael's fault."

"Oh yeah? Then Lucifer wanting Michael back in Hell isn't his fault?"

"This would've happened to anyone."

"No, it happened to you. Because you couldn't stay away from Michael when we told you to-"

"You told me to go after him. I'm not blaming you but you did."

She leaned back on the couch and crossed her arms. "Then I'm sorry I ruined your life. I'm sorry I let you and my sisters and God down by ruining your life when my only job was to make it better."

"You didn't ruin my life."

"Des-"

"You didn't. Lucifer did."

She looked over at me and studied my face, probably staring at my eyes. "Did you call off from work?"

"Michael did for me. I think he said something about me needing a few weeks off. He wrote a doctor's note for me and everything."

"Do you think he'd care if I stuck around with you until he came back?"

I shrugged. "Probably not. But if he gets mad, it was your idea."

She grinned. "Deal."

Nona and I spent all day snooping around Michael's apartment. We ordered Chinese food and laid around on his couch. It was a nice day off from work, regardless of the circumstances.

Nona was looking at knee-high boots on her laptop when Michael came back. He had a satchel on his side, pulled over his shoulder. He glanced at us when he heard us.

"Was she any trouble?" He asked, looking at Nona.

"No, she was fine." We both said at the same time. Nona grinned at me.

Michael sighed. "I tried calling my father but he refuses to answer his phone. I keep getting an automated text back saying I'll get my answers when I return to Hell."

"Have a seat, Michael." Nona said, gesturing to the chair across from us. She set her laptop down and clasped her hands over her crossed knees. She looked totally professional which was unlike her. She was usually laughing or being silly but not professional. It was a good look for her. I was proud of her.

He laughed and pulled his bag off. "You know this is my house, right?"

She didn't say a word and her expression never changed. She waited for him to finally sit before she spoke. "We don't want you to do it."

"It?"

She rolled her eyes. "Go to Hell. Your father is being very unreasonable and we don't think you should give him the satisfaction of pleasing him."

"This is Destiny's life we're talking about here. You really want her to stay like this?"

"I'm still me. Just... really deep down." I said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"The only problem we have is her job." Nona said. "She can't just not show up for the rest of her life."

"I gave them a doctor's note lasting a month. I told them it was some flesh eating bacteria so they couldn't see her and she couldn't talk on the phone. They told me to allow her time to heal. So we have a little over a month to figure this out."

"How do we do that?"

"We have to convince Lucifer to change her without me having to go to Hell."

"You can't go there then come back?"

"My father controls whoever enters or exits Hell. There is no way I could go there and just expect to walk out. He'd have to let me and the chances of that are slim to - no, just none. There are no chances, really."

"What if both of us went there? Do you think we could change his mind on his side of the bargain?"

"As in change his proposal?"

I nodded. "Convince him that you being in Hell isn't a good idea and that you'd be useful here. Somehow."

Michael sighed but he looked more thoughtful than frustrated. "That might just work."

Nona frowned. "I can't go to Hell."

Michael's lips pressed together tightly and his forehead creased up.

"Why not?"

She turned to me and her mature nature was still on display. "When God created us, he specifically made us so we couldn't be harmed by any evil. Hell is the capital of evil."

I turned back to Michael. "Then I guess it's just you and me."
