Epilogue

TOMMY'S POV:

Everything that happens after that is kinda a blur- Jenny, Isabella, and Bryne crush me in a rib-cracking hug, we are all congratulated by the thousands of prisoners who were captured and nearly worked to death, and a camera crew, some police officers, and even Entity303 arrive.

Entity303 sees me standing next to Herobrine's body, gasps, and says, "you little jerk! I'll get you for this! I'll get all four of you for this! You will pay for killing my master!"

I had some monster king flashbacks when he says that.

"Uh, not in prison, you won't," one of the officers says, handcuffing Entity303 and shoving him into the back of his car. 

A different officer comes up to the four of us.

"Are you the kids that killed the pres- I mean, Herobrine?" he asks.

"Well, Tommy was the one who actually shot him in the end, but we all helped, " Bryne says. "There were other kids who helped too, but they're dead."

"Hmm," the officer says. "Well, kids, you shot somebody off a building, right?"

We nod.

"Normally, I would arrest whoever did that and keep them in prison for at least fifty years."

We all look nervously at each other. Was this all a bust? Would we really be arrested for doing something as good as this?

"But..." The officer smiles. "You did show unbelievable perseverance, courage, and strength, and you also saved the lives of billions of people, so... I think I can let you off this time."

We all squeal like little girls and join the officer in a group hug. 

Then came the camera crew, and boy did they have a TON of questions! I can't even write them all down, it would take up most of this chapter, and this is an epilogue. It's supposed to be short.

But they were asking how we knew Herobrine (which made Bryne and I have to come up with very complicated lies), why he had tried to personally kill us in the first place, our whole mission with this, and how we had killed him in the end. 

Now we're at home, watching the news report and chilling out on my couch. Isabella says she's going to go back to her family at home, but we gave each other our phone numbers, emails, and Minecraft usernames, and she says she'll visit us every day if she wants to. And she does.

Going back to school was awesome too. All the kids, teachers, and even the principal were treating us like superheroes- giving us special favors, letting us do whatever we wanted, and other stuff. It did make sense, though. We're heroes. We saved the country, if not the world, from being taken over. It sounds like something you would read in a fantasy story, but it actually happened to my friends and me.

My mom was... shocked. Of course, she was proud of us, but of course, there was that 'why the heck did you do that do you know how dangerous that was you could've gotten yourself killed' lecture. Typical mom. She was mega-upset after she heard that Dad died, but as soon as she got over her anger and sadness, she was prouder than anyone else.

And me? I'm just happy that whole crazy experience is over. Bryne, Jenny, and I have fought Herobrine so many times and failed. The whole time he was trying to destroy us- both in Minecraft and in reality- was an inescapable nightmare. Imagine living in total darkness, where the only emotions you have are anger, sadness, and fear. That was me for the past who-knows-long. Now I've finally gotten out of that, and I'm able to see the light again.

That whole thing was horrific. I still remember the pain I felt, both physical and emotional, during that. I still have nightmares about it, waking up and thinking Herobrine is still alive and about to kill me.

But he isn't. He's dead and he will always be dead. There is nothing that can bring him back to life. He is gone forever, along with the shadow of fear and sadness that has been hanging over me for the past year. All of it is gone.

And now that it is, I can finally live my life the way I was supposed to.

Hello, everyone! Can you believe that this book is done?! I know I can't! I never thought I would finish this project in such little time. I have written a TON of Minecraft fanfic (look forward to seeing some on my profile!) but this one I am the proudest of and I think this is the best book I've ever written.

There will be a sequel to this book. It's going to be called 'Possessed', and it should be published by the end of this week.
