BRYNE'S POV:

"Bryne, slow down!" Owen pants behind me. "I can't run that fast!"

"Yes, you can!" I yell. "You were one of the fastest kids on our track team last year!"

"But we don't even know where we're going!" Owen says. "We've literally just been running in one direction for the past eight minutes!"

Oh, yeah. Right.

I slow to a stop and wait for Owen to catch up with me. He has a point. We don't know where Sam or Tyler or Jenny are. They could be anywhere in NYC, and this city is HUGE.

"Wait- I have an idea!" Owen says. "We can call her!"

"Uh, don't you remember?" I say. "Herobrine took her phone. If we call her, she won't be able to answer."

"Yeah, but who says Tyler or Jenny won't be able to?" says Owen. "Look, Bryne, it's our only hope. You know what could happen to them if we don't try."

He's right. One of them, if not all of them, could lose their lives.

"You're right," I say, and I take out my phone. I open the call app and tap on Sam's profile picture. As the phone rings, I take a deep breath.

JENNY'S POV:

I wrap my blue-and-white sweater around Tyler's arm, which seems to be the place that he's the most damaged. I tie it off with the ponytail holder I took out of my blonde hair. It's a bit unsettling, seeing the sweater slowly turn dark red, but somehow I'm not fainting, so I suppose I'm okay.

"There," I say, pushing Tyler's brown bangs out of his face. "That should stop the bleeding."

"Thanks," Tyler tries to say, but he just ends up groaning. Then, he points to his chest.

"Your chest hurts?" I ask.

He nods.

"I'm sorry," I say, and I lean over to hug him. "You'll be okay, I promise."

Suddenly, we hear a vibrating noise. I realize it's coming from Sam's phone, which Herobrine took away not long ago.

"Tyler, do you think you can get that?" I ask.

He nods.

"Go."

Somehow, he stands up and drags himself toward the table where the phone is. But before he gets to pick it up, his leg gives out and he falls over just as he grabs the phone.

He throws the phone towards me and says, "it's Bryne."

I catch it and press the answer button. "Hello?"

"Jenny! Is that you?" asks Bryne's voice through the phone.

"Yeah, it's me!" I say, relieved. "Tyler's here, too. Say hi, Tyler."

"Hi," Tyler says rather weakly.

"OMG! Tyler, are you okay?" Owen says.

"O-Owen?" asks Tyler.

"Yeah, it's me!" Owen gasps and by the sound of his voice, he's tearing up.

"Where are you guys? Where's Sam?" Bryne asks.

"Sam's in the next room, being tortured," I reply. "And we're on that street near the giant statue of that bull thing. It's a shop, and we're in the basement."

"The Wall Street Bull!" Owen gasps. "That's where you are? That must be miles away! How did you get there?"

"Herobrine drove us there," Tyler whispers.

"He knows how to drive? How can he drive a car but not use a cell phone?" Bryne asks.

"No, he can't drive," I say. "He literally was trying to run as many people over as he could, so we ended up driving into a tree, and then we almost smashed into a McDonalds when Tyler, who was sitting in the front seat, leaned across him and turned us away from it. However, all that got him was a glare, a broken tooth, and just more awful driving."

"Wow," Owen says, and I can tell he's almost laughing. "Well, we'll come get you."

"Hold on," I say worriedly. "Is Tommy there?"

"No," Bryne says sadly. "Apparently Herobrine's trying to kill Robbins, so Tommy's heading to Washington to try to protect him."

"Herobrine hasn't said anything about that," Tyler points out.

"Do you really think he'd randomly tell us that he's gonna kill the president?" I snap. "Of course not, dummy."

Tyler rolls his eyes, so I turn back to the phone.

"Please come get us," I plead. "Sam's been in there for way too long. I don't know what he's doing to her in there, but we haven't her at all, so we really don't know if she's alive or not. Also, I'm getting tortured next, and I think the fact that I'm Tommy's sister is going to make matters a lot worse for me."

"We'll be there soon," Owen says. "I promise. I'm gonna call a cab."

"We'll get you out and stop Herobrine," says Bryne. "I know we will. Just- hang on, okay?"

"I-I will," I say. "Thank you. You guys are officially the best people ever."

I hang up the phone.

"They'll be here soon," I tell Tyler. "They're just going to get a taxi to drive them here."

"They're awesome," Tyler says. Then, he grabs my hand and smiles. I grab his too.

We aren't awake when Sam is thrown back into the room, but she's alive. Thank God. But I'm next. So all we can do is wait for Bryne and Owen and hope that Herobrine doesn't kill us before they get here.
