"What?" My jaw dropped.

"I mean it's okay if you're busy and all, I just wanted to hang ou--" Madison looked dejected.

"Uh, no. It's fine. You can come over." I offered her a smile but all I really wanted to do was strangle Xander to death.

How come I didn't know about this match? I never miss any of the matches in our neighbourhood!

Madison sighed in relief, thanking me.

I turned to glare at Xander with a tight smile. "Why don't I know about this match?" I asked softly.

"Uh, because I might have forgotten to tell you about it?" He said so casually, leaning back on his seat.

I kicked his shin under the table and smiled in satisfaction when I saw him wince.

Dean came back shortly after and asked me if I was ready to leave.

I said I was and got up from my seat, saying my farewell to Xander and Madison.

Madison said she'd get my number from Xander and call me later, to which I gave her a thumbs up.

"What's with you and Maddy?" Dean asked once we were out of the cafeteria.

"Maddy?" I turned to look at him with an amused smile and my eyebrows raised.

"Shit. Xander's rubbing off on me again." He shook his body vigorously, making me laugh.

"Xander has a game and she's staying over at his place tonight so he wants me to keep her company till he comes back." I explained, getting my phone out of my bag.

"She's the girlfriend. Why isn't she attending his match?" Dean asked.

I shrugged. "I guess she's just not into it."

"Saaaad." He said, faking a pout.

"So are they like, doing the thing tonight?" He raised his eyebrows playfully.

I rolled my eyes shoving him away as he laughed at my reaction.

He opened the door to the studio, allowing me to enter first. "I was planning on taking you out somewhere tonight, but I guess you're booked." He said, now with a sad smile on his face.

"Awh, Dean. I'm sorry. We can go out some other time." I said, hoping not to disappoint him.

"Yeah." His smile was gone now.

"Or, you could come over today. It'd be weird if I stayed alone with Madison anyway. We barely know each other and I don't think we have any common interests." I said, taking my laptop out and placing it on the table.

"Hmm, that sounds good. Although I gotta correct you." He said, a smirk on his face.

"About what?" I asked, my eyes now focusing on the screen before me.

"You did have a common interest : Xander." He chuckled.

I glared at him, elbowing his stomach.

"Oww. You really gotta stop doing that to me. You know it could kill me." He said, almost breathless.

I opened up the folder of my demos and played the first track. Dean leaned down, staring at the screen.

He was standing just behind me and he was this close to me. I could feel his hot breath against my ears and it sent shivers down my spine.

"Okay that's nice. Next please." He said. I was frozen momentarily, hearing his deep voice.

Seeing how I didn't respond, he moved forward and played the next track.

I was still focusing on how warm his body felt against mine. "Ah-hah! This one. Nothing beats this one. I already love it from the beginning. I pick this." He said, inching further away from me.

This seemed to bring me back to reality. "Oh. Okay then. I'll send them this. Thanks for helping out." I said, moving the track to another folder.

I closed my laptop and put it back in my bag, ready to leave the studio and run to Mr. Lawrence.

Dean leaned on the frame of the door, waiting for me.

When I walked closer to him, he snaked his arms across my waist, planting a quick kiss on my lips.

My lips immediately curved up in a smile. "I'm so proud of you." He whispered.

"I don't know what for, but thank you." I patted his cheeks softly and walked out.

Dean followed me to meet Mr. Lawrence and waited for me outside.

My talk with Mr. Lawrence was short. I handed him a copy of my tracks and signed some papers before coming back out.

Dean slung an arm over my shoulder. "Don't you have any classes to attend today?" I asked.

"Nope. Submitted my copy of the video they asked us to edit so I'm free." He said, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Dean was majoring in cinematography and he was like one of the favourites of his mentors, so they let him bunk classes because Dean would tell them that he needs to go out more often to find inspiration and they let him.

"Oh wait! Holy motherfor--" I covered my mouth, realizing my plans for tonight.

"What?" He turned to look at me, dead serious.

"Looks like we're having a big party tonight." I sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"I have to practice with Nick tonight. And I completely forgot about that when I agreed to Xander's offer." I covered my face, shaking my head.

"Oh that's even cooler. We haven't had a party like for a while now." He flashed me his famous half-smile.

"Gee, thanks for understanding Dean. You're the best." I chuckled.

"Think twice before you speak now missy. Am I really?" He winked, laughing.

"At least to me, you are."
