You were a spirit that couldn't be contained, especially by the walls of SHIELD. Tony, being Tony, was instantly attracted to you because of your personality. That matched his in some ways and not in others. 

I see swimming pools and living rooms and aeroplanes
I see a little house on the hill and children's names

He tried to give you the world. Everything and anything, Tony Stark would attain it just to win your affection, but you didn't want diamonds and pearls. You wanted someone who'd understand you and not try to impress you with stupid riches.

The first time you rejected him was at one of his famous party's when you shouted that literally only a fool would fall for his antics and party tricks that he tried so desperately to impress you with. 

That night, Tony Stark drank himself into oblivion and ended up going home with a blonde bimbo that had followed him around all night. Of course, you had seen it all, down to the last kiss before the door shut. You drank a little more than you should've that night.

Despite this, Tony still tried to chase you. It was like he became obsessed with you, never wanting to let you be the one that got away. Even though you told him to go away or leave you alone, he'd only smile and shake his head.

"Fat chance, Stark." You'd roll your eyes as you would cross your arms. "Only fools fall for playboys like you. I'm sorry, but I'd like to keep my heart in one piece." 

"Yeah, okay, Y/N." Tony'd roll his eyes back. "Just look at what I can give you! Swimming pools, larger than life living rooms, alcohol beyond your imagination! Children if you want!"

I see quiet nights poured over ice and Tanqueray
But everything is shattering and it's my mistake

You would stare at him for a long period of time after that, not really caring if it was creepy or not. Why would the playboy-billionaire be offering you all of this? Was it just a game to him? Was he just trying to get you into his bed before tossing you away like a dirty napkin?

"Then be a fool, Y/N." Tony begs. "Please, be a damn fool."
