•Y/N: Your Name
Your POV:
I rub my tired eyes while stepping out of the house, feeling absolutely exhausted. I could hardly sleep, and, when I finally did drift off, I ended up dreaming about all those cats glaring into my soul with those golden eyes. It was bone chilling. I shriek and jump upon hearing a meow on my left and whip my head towards the bushes in front of my house. Ginger, that cat from yesterday, was sitting there. She purrs while getting to her feet before coming closer to rub against my legs. I remain tense as I bring a hand to my pounding heart. I think I've developed a fear of cats.
"H-Hey, kitty. I figured you would have left by now," I say while bending down and holding out my hand towards the dirty feline. She gives my hand a sniff before nudging against it affectionately. I smile softly at her before looking around. I don't see any other cats around or that weird guy.
"I guess you're not so bad. How about I get you washed up? Would you like that?" I scoop her up in my arms with caution, though, she does not hiss, scratch or even struggle in my hold. "I'll see if I can find some food for you also." I bring her inside, having nothing better to do. I might as well wash this cat. I set Ginger's light form on my bathroom sink before running the bath water to fill about two inches. Knowing cats are afraid of water, I worried she might freak out when I put her in, so I'll try to do it slow so that she won't panic. I'm sure to close the bathroom door so that she cannot escape if she runs. I flinch when I spin around and find her green eyes had turned gold. Gulping, I hesitantly approach and do my best to ignore her change of eye color as I pick her up.
'I'm just hallucinating from lack of sleep. Surely, that must be it.' Ginger growls lowly as I lower her into the water, but, thankfully, does not flip out on me.
"Don't worry, I'm just rinsing you off." Being gentle, I rub her with the water, doing my best to take off all the dirt and grime off her fur. Thankfully, it doesn't look like she has bugs. Having nothing else to use, I grab a bar of soap and start rubbing the cat with it before rinsing off the suds and standing up. I empty the bath, sending the murky, grey water down the drain and turn my back to grab a clean towel from the white cabinet under the sink. I laugh softly when I find Ginger struggling to get out of the tub and help her out by wrapping her in the light green towel and placing her on the floor. Her eyes are still yellow, which makes me frown as I dry her off.
'I guess it really wasn't just a trick of the light or a hallucination.' When I finish, I stand and allow her to shake off the remaining water trapped in her brown fur before opening the door to let her explore my home. My stomach groans loudly, reminding me of why I was leaving earlier. I was going to get breakfast at the restaurant down the street.
'Oh well. I guess I'll just make something.' Humming a song, I walk over to the kitchen while wondering what I should feed Ginger only to stop after passing the doorway to the living room.
'Did I just see what I think I did?' Taking a slow step back, I peer into the room and felt my stomach flip. That man, the one from the alley sat there lounging on the couch... with his dirty ass clothes! Joining him are the same black cats that had perched on his head and shoulders to cover up his face, which is what they are presently doing. He lays with his arms sprawled out and his feet on the armrest, which made me angry because he is wearing muddy shoes. I march into the living room, absolutely livid while also a bit scared.
"How and why are you in my house?!"
"The door was unlocked," the male answers simply while lazily pointing a finger towards the wide open door. He then tucks the hand beneath his head as I glare down at him.
