Stray cats have a tendency of following people around when they want something, so when a pretty bird named Y/N flies into Lorenzo's life, he can't help but jump at the chance to use her. What he doesn't realize is that she knows how to play his gam...

Ravenously, sharp fangs dig into a tuna sandwich, while the woman beside Lorenzo eats hers calmly. In her head, she mulls over all the things the cat man had confessed to her, unable to help casting looks in his direction every now again before returning her attention to the show playing on the television. To her surprise, he had decided to stay a little longer, even after his sandwich was made. She wondered if the cats had convinced him to stay or if, perhaps, he was hoping for seconds. Whatever the case, Y/N was simply glad that he was actually going to give her a chance, regardless of his harsh past. She gives a yawn and leans against the couch's armrest after finishing her sandwich, eyelids drooping some. It wasn't late by any means, only early afternoon, but dreamland was calling her. The sensation of fur brushing against her right leg brings her attention down to Ginger, who purrs, earning a smile from the woman.
"You said you can understand cats, right?" Lorenzo pauses cleaning his fingers with his tongue, his eyes shifting over to the human before he lowered his hand to his lap. His sandwich was gone in a matter of bites.
"Yeah, why?"
"Is Ginger telling me something?"
"Not with words, but she's thanking you for the tuna." Ginger turns her head to the man and gives a look that makes him groan with flattened ears. His tail twitches slightly, curling at the end as he huffs. "And, she says thank you for feeding me too." A small groan comes from the cat, and his jaw tenses. "Fine I say thank you for the food." Y/N laughs softly before picking up Ginger to place her on her lap and scratch under her chin.
"I never thought of myself as a cat person before, you know? It's not that I didn't like them before, but I never wanted one growing up. Don't think my mom would've let me anyways. She was allergic." His ears perked a little as she confessed a little about her family, and his nails tapped against his knee a few times before deciding to ask,
"What... was your life like? Growing up, I mean." He looks over at his honorary brothers, who scamper across the room in a game of chase, and sighs. "It's only fair. I told you about mine."
"I suppose you're right. Well, it was... normal. That's all, really. I haven't had much of a hard life. My parents were supportive, I went to a good school, had some decent friends." He hums, looking at his feet solemnly. That was the life he wanted, something nice like that with a caring mother and father and a place in life where he could call his upbringing normal. Upon seeing the look he gave, Y/N sighed.
