"Oh, good, you're here," Y/N noted observantly the moment she walked into her house to find Lorenzo lounging across her couch surrounded by his pack of inky-black felines and Ginger, who was getting her chin scratched by the man's sharp nails. His head shifted on the palm of his other hand, which held it up, to gaze at her before offering a small,
"Hey." At the sight of her smile, he raised a curious brow as she approached. There was a suspicious twinkle in her eye that made his tail twitch. "What?" He questions sharply, eyes narrowed with wariness when she stopped beside him.
"I found our first date."
"Oh, really, where?" The cat man smirks, expecting some smart-ass answer to come out of her mouth and amuse him when she held her hips and straightened her back; rather, she spoke with mystery.
"You'll see. Come on, let's go."
"Now?"
"Yep. Your furry friends can stay here if they'd like. We'll be back by late morning," she says to the cats who stare back as though they consented to the plan. Lorenzo quickly sat up. This was moving too fast.
"Wait, late morning? What could possibly take that long? It's almost sundown." Y/N failed to elaborate, walking away without answering any of his questions as he shouted after her. Lorenzo slumps back into the couch cushions before looking towards Ginger for an explanation.
"Don't look at me. She didn't tell me anything," she excuses, though he was sure if she had the ability to smirk, she would. "Just have fun with her, Lorenzo." The man sighed and tried to calm his nerves by running a hand between his flattened ears which perked when Y/N returned to the living room with a large, bulky bag over her shoulder. She walks up to him with a smile before offering a hand to help him up. He did nothing but eye at her with suspicion.
"We can't have a relationship without trust. Don't worry, it'll be fun," she assures before looking over at the cats. "And I've left food and water out for everyone, so don't worry about them. They'll be fine." Lorenzo softened his multicolored eyes and accepted her hand with some hesitation. Her fingers wrapped around his hand with care before lightly tugging to pull him to his feet. Once he was standing, he looked back at his brothers, who assured him they would be fine and that he should go enjoy himself for once, but the few crude comments spouted from Tony were regarded with an eye roll.
"What did they say?" She asked after noticing the exasperated look he gave.
"Don't worry about it." The change in temperature from the inside of the house to the outside was criminal. Even in his coat, Lorenzo felt a shocking chill shoot through his spine as he looked over the light dusting of snow that powdered the grass stark white. The dark clouds overhead indicated it would flurry later in the evening as well. Wherever they were going, he hoped it'd be warm.
