Chapter 2

Alexis's POV (Unedited)

"Alexis, wake up." I jump awake afraid the plane was going down or something. I know a little paronoid but I've always been a little afraid of planes. Especially after all the movies and tv shows they make about plane crashes and being lost on an island, not what I'd like to see in my future.

"Whoah calm down the planes fine, but we are here!" Leslie points out the window and I see we've already touched ground and are driving to the gate. I sit up in my seat and look out the window at the planes passing by just getting ready to take off, must suck for them!

"At this time you may retrieve your belongings but becareful as items may have shifted during flight. Have a nice trip and thank you for riding air America." Leslie and I quickly grab our stuff and practically run out the terminal.

"Wait." I stop in my tracks and Leslie stops soon ahead of me. "what's wrong?" Leslie asks looking me up and down. "Where are staying?" I can't believe I didn't think about this until now. I mean we can't sleep in our car for three months. I mean we could but I'd much rather not.

"Oh right I forgot to tell you your parents talked to your cousin Jenny and she said she'd love for us to stay with them." My mouth dropped open and I quikcly threw my arms around my best friends neck squeezing tightly. "This is awesome! Thank you." I let go and we continued our journey to baggage claim.

My cousin Jenny lives in Pasadena and the only times I ever saw her were when her mother my grand aunt had birthday parties for her mother my great grandmother. I know sorry if this is confusing. But anyway ever since my great Grandmother passed away I haven't gotten the chance to see her or her family. She has a husband and two kids. I believe one's 8 and one's 10. Her husband is a director for documentaries and won an oscar this past year for his movie 20 feet from Stardom. (I recommend watching it it's really and interesting story about background singers.)

"Earth to Alexis." I look up and see Leslie waving her hand in my face. "Sorry." I see she's already grabbed my bags so the next thing to do is grab a taxi.

There wasn't too much traffic so it only took about 30 minutes to get to my cousin's house opposed to 20 minutes it normally would take. Leslie pays the taxi driver and he helps us get out bags from the trunk. "Alexis!" I hear my name screamed and see Jenny running out to greet us.

I drop my bags and engulf her in a big hug. I haven't seen her for three years and I can't say I haven't missed her. She's fairly young so it's almost like having a big sister rather than a cousin. "And you must be Leslie." She lets go of my to go and hug Leslie which she gladly accepts.

"Where is everyone?" I look around and don't see Sadie or Camryn (her kids) anywhere.

"Oh there inside with Morgan." I nod my head and Jenny helps bring our bags inside. Morgan is her husband and the first time I heard that name for a guy I was really confused but not I see it fits him.

Jenny shows us to our room which is downstairs in the basement. Her house is pretty normal sized and it's beautiful. It's made with dark wood so it gives it that whole cabin in the woods type feel. In their basement they even have a bookcase that can be moved and behind it is their laundry room. It reminds me of the house Anne Frank and her family lived it.

"Well I'll let you too get settled and when your ready just come upstairs lunch should be ready shortly." It's a three hour time difference so it's only about 1 o'clock here right now opposed to 4 o'clock in Pennsylvania.

"Can you believe we're actually in L.A!" Leslie states falling back on the bed.

"I know this is amazing!" I lay next to her taking in all of this.

"Come on we need to unpack." Leslie drags me off the bed and we begin to unpack all our belongings.

Once we finish we walk upstairs to see Jenny has already prepared sandwiches and chips to eat. I take a seat and soon Morgan walks in with Sadie and Camryn close behind. I get up and give him a quick hug whille Leslie and him just shake hands introducing themselves. Sadie and Camryn remember me somewhat but not a whole lot. They each give me hugs and we take a seat enjoying our lunch.

"Alright tomorrow we are hitting the town and going to see the walk of fame." Leslie announces as she strips down to change into a t-shirt and athletic shorts to sleep in.

"Sounds good! I can't wait to show you everything." I change as well and take my spot on the bed. I've been here once before with my dad and we went to see an L.A. Galaxy socccer game. It was when David Beckham was still on the team and I mainly went to see him. He's just so gorgeous!

Leslie lays down next to me and soon I can hear her breathing even out indicating she is asleep. Man this trip is going to be amazing! I just know it!
