I once fell in love with April,
Who always seemed to be crying,
She had a broken heart,
That couldn't ever be mended,
Her heart was a puzzle,
But some of the pieces were missing,
There was no way of knowing,
If she'd ever be whole again,
And try as I might,
I could never heal her,
All I could do was watch,
As she broke down and cried,
Until finally I had an idea,
That I knew would fix it,
I took my own heart,
And carved out a bunch of pieces,
Making sure each piece,
Would fit neatly in her empty spaces,
I then gave her all the pieces,
And fit them in her heart,
When she was finally whole,
She stopped crying and smiled,
But instead of loving me,
She turned away,
And fell for someone else,
Leaving me to fix,
My own broken heart.
