[Pandora]

This was so weird.

I was lounging on the beach, joking around with some Beta boys, and it was weird. These guys were supposed to be assholes, but they ended up being pretty cool.

"So one atom turns to another atom and says 'I've lost an electron' and the other atom asks 'Are you positive?'" I told, giggling at my own joke.

"Hey Saturn, what is it that you study again?" Michael asked, grinning from my geekyness.

"Pharmacology. I always said I didn't want to go into the medical field, because I'm not good with sickness and blood, but I like helping people, but I love chemistry. So I get to help people by giving them the medicine they need, and I won't have to diagnose them."

He nodded. I glanced around, and Calum was on his way over. I tried not to let my disgust show. Michael left for the water, and Ashton went to hang out with the president and vp of Beta Theta Pi, leaving me vulnerable to whatever onslaught Calum had prepared.

"Hello there." He greeted, sitting next to me.

"What do you want?" I asked, his presence already turning my mood sour.

"What? No hi?"

"Hello, Calum. What do you want?"

He sighed before he spoke. "I want to apologize for the way I've been acting. Initially, at the party, my tone of voice came out as condescending and rude, and I wanted to tell you this before class, but when we left and I knew he wouldn't like me talking to you and - Pandora I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. At the party, after I said you'd made up your boyfriend, I was going to tell you that it was fine, that if you really wanted nothing to do with me, that I'd go. But he slung his arm over you, and it looked like some barbaric move of claiming something as his. I said that because, I don't care if you were a stranger at the time, no woman should be treated like that. So, I'm sorry, again." He started to get up to leave when I caught his wrist.

"It's fine. Thanks. Just try not to be an asshole to Fletcher, okay? You can stay - I just needed to know that those weren't your intentions." He nodded and sat back down before I continued. "But do know, that if this is a ploy to get in my pants, I won't get to kill you because there will be a line. Understand?"

He nodded again.

"You're looking a bit red. Did you reapply your sunscreen?" He asked a few minutes later.

"Uh, no. I'm waiting on Arabella to come back to help me."

"Oh... I can help, if you'd like. Or I can call Mikey or Ash over if you, ah, trust them more."

"That's fine. I'll just wait for Arabella."

"Really thought, I'll call Ash over. I don't want you to get burnt." Before I could protest, he started summoning Ashton. "Oi! Ashton! Over here!"

Ashton jogged over.

"What is it, mate?"

"Pandora needs help applying her sunscreen-"

"No no no I'm fine-"

"And she doesn't trust me yet."

Ashton quirked an eyebrow before kneeling behind me to get my back.

"Ash, you don't have to. I was just going to wait for Arabella."

"It's fine. Cal told me about when you two first met. You don't trust him yet. I understand."

I gave in and reached for the bottle myself, getting my limbs, stomach and chest.

Once he got my back, Ashton left to go back to the guys he was with before.

I rubbed sunscreen onto my face and turned to Calum.

"Is it rubbed in good?"

"Mostly. You missed a spot on your cheek. No, your other cheek. Not there, here." He gave in and reached across to gently rub the sunscreen in at my cheekbone.

The rest of the time was us talking aimlessly about pointless things, and Mike joined us again.

"Oh my God."

"What?"

"You were in the water, and now your hair is so flat. C'mere."

And here I was, fluffing up the heavily dyed hair of a guy I barely knew, after getting sunscreen rubbed into my back from another guy I barely knew. Once I was done I glanced over to the ocean.

"Oh. oh. oH! Guys! Look!"

They turned just in time to see Arabella and Luke pulling away from their kiss.

"Knew it." Cal stated, sipping his soda.

"Yup, they - hey is that my soda?" Michael asked.

Cal drained the soda and turned to Michael. "Not anymore."

I thought about it for a moment, and decided I wanted to know these boys. I reached over and grabbed my phone and got a new contact ready. I named it "Kitty" and after snapping a quick pic of Cal, I handed him the phone to put his number in.

"Kitty? Really?" He sighed and put his number in before handing me back my phone. I made another contact with a photo of Michael, and named it "Chill Ass Nigga".

"Oh God." He commented, seeing the name before handing my phone back.

"I'm gonna go get Ash's number."

I stood up and walked over to the small group where Ash was. I handed him my phone where I had already entered the name "Bandana Loving Fuck". "Oh wow. Okay." He entered his phone number and handed my phone back without question.

I went and sat back down with the guys, and when Arabella and Luke came out of the water, I made Luke give me his number under "Awkward Dork".

Soon after was the bonfire, and alcohol. Normally, I was the designated driver, but Arabella and I had brought a tent, just like about half of the Beta's, and had set it up before the bonfire was going. Tonight was bottoms up with my new friends.
