The Way It Hurt

I miss the misery

Because I've only been a mistake,

Even though I know you've changed

Don't let me get in your way; all the lies and the pain,

All the fight would keep us awake,

I'm going to tell you;

I miss the way you'd hate me,

I miss the screaming, the way you'd yell at me,

It was the kick in the face,

Everything that you'd do to me.

I loved the way that it hurt,

But still-- I don't miss you, I miss the misery.

I'd rather fight then fake it,

Give me the pain,

I miss the screaming, the way that you'd play at me.

I need that kick in the face,

The way that it hurts...

The lies, the cheats, give me more...

I hate that feeling inside that you told me you tried...

I need the blames pointed at me,

I need the phone calls saying it was your fault,

have to have the way it hurt.

Give me the screams and the shouts.

Give me the lies and the doubts.

Don't let me get in your way,

but I'm here, getting in your face.

I need the lies, the shouts,

I need the times I don't miss you at all.

But still, as much as I need to complain, I need the misery.

You think I've had enough-

But I can't get enough of a good thing.

I need a kick in the face,

the way it hurt,

it made me miss the misery
