Decisions of a fleeting fresh breeze

Decisions...

Aren't they daunting, Aru?

Dreams and reality glued together by emotions and wrapped in responsibility. The most hardest choice...

Who am I kidding? You would know this better than me. The responsible kid in house. The matured one. The stronger one. The one who isn't afraid to shoulder responsibilities. The one who makes decisions on behalf of her silly sister too.

And I know I was the reason behind that. I wanna remain as your silly, buoyant sister who spends life dancing in her la-la land as I have always been. Without being burdened with responsibilities and harsh consequences of choices.

Woh! That sounds selfish... but meh! I don't care...

This is who I'm right?

I still remember the night when you argued with mom over me dropping out of buisness management.

"Let her pursue her dream Mom."

"She must have realized what her dream was before enrolling, not in the middle of the course."

"Weren't you the one who enrolled her in buisness?"

"Oh! The blame game now, Arunthati? Wonderful..."

"No mom... I'm not blaming you. It's just that... It's the fact that..." she stumbled for words. It was too much for my 16 year old little sister to handle.

"It's just what, Arunthai? How do you think you could possibly explain? You are barely into your high school and you come up to me to discuss your elder sister's career goals?!"

"All she needs is proper guidance mom. She has it in her to shine as a musician. You know that. On the other hand she would just be an average buisness student settling for an ordinary robotic job if you don't let her quit now"

"That stardusted world she dreams of is a maze. A gamble. I'm not gonna let her future depend on such uncertainty"

"But I'm certain that anything other than music could never make her happy." Pregnant silence followed Aru's words while I was in the adjacent room too afraid to voice out my opinion.

"She wouldn't open up about this but I would. Let her quit and follow her dream, mom"

"It's not your call to make"

"Not yours too"

"ARUNTHATI!!"

The one who fought tooth and nail with everyone and brought back passion into my being. My scarecrow...

And you know what Aru?!!

All those arguments, plans you made, motivational speeches you gave are now meaningless. Don't be shocked. You should have anticipated this when you have such an useless sister like me.

When I got a call from Darian Shanaz Dara , I did not know it would sever the ties with my passion forever. I did not know that my dreams which you visualized would be reduced to dust in a snap. If I had known, I wouldn't have agreed to meet Dhruv's father.

"Glad to meet you Mr.Dara"

A look at Darian Dara would let us know why Dhruv was such a flawless charmer. Sporting a salt and pepper hairstyle did not reduce the charm of his face in any aspect. Just a glance was enough to know that the man before me in his mid-fifties would have been a sculptured artwork in his youth. I had never seen a man who has aged so gracefully. And he radiated aristocracy. The aura of power that engulfed his cabin intimidated me beyond my anticipation.
