This is the last chapter, before the epilogue. I can't believe we are through with 'The Nanny'. I'm so happy!

Sophie's POV

*

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Abdul mumbles repeatedly with his hands trembling and tears in his eyes before he gets dragged out by the two guards.

They look furious, like they are restraining themselves from beating him up.

Some men have also rushed in and attended to the shot security guard.

The sight of blood slowly oozing out of his stomach before soaking his shirt is like a glue; it is plastered in my memory now. The elderly man got shot trying to save me.

The irony of life.

I'm the same one that almost took her life months ago, but now someone risked his own life just to save me.

I never knew the day would come when I would have to even see so much blood gushing out of someone in my whole life!

The man's whole shirt has been badly soaked as they carry him out. His eyes are also shut and the other uniformed men try to attend to him before the paramedics come.

One of the paramedics hands me ice pack and helps me stitch my head and wrap it before they ask me to visit the company's clinic later.

We are still standing inside the torture room, the same room where my life was almost taken.

Everyone finally leaves and silence befalls us.

I and Demola are still clutched onto each other in the same spot even after few minutes and I calmly absorb the warmth that comes with the perfect man I call my boyfriend.

"Thank God." I stiffly mumble, grabbing Demola's attention.

"Are you okay? No, of course you aren't. Let's get out of here." He mutters slowly when we hear the siren blowing around the parking lot and I cling desperately onto his shirt.

He leads me out and the instance we aren't between the four walls of that depressing room, I pull Demola into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." I mumble repeatedly.

I press my nose into his chest to accept his warmth. His cologne slowly calms me down but that doesn't stop me from leaning into him when I feel that my legs are about to give up.

He pulls my face from his shirt and makes me look up at him. "Hey, why do you keep apologizing?"

Even though I am at fault, his gaze doesn't judge me in anyway. His eyes are loving and understanding.

"I..I am sorry for the way I acted earlier. I would've lost you... I am sorry and I- I love you." I blurt out shyly.

I have never told him I loved him even though he has said it countless times but the mere thought of not seeing him after today made me realise how I truly felt about him.

Even though it's been like four months or there about and we've fought a lot, I know I have fallen in love with him.

The sides of his eyes crinkle as his lips pull into a wide smile. "You do?"

"Yes, I do. I love you." I say again shyly, "how did you find me?"

The dread slowly settles again as the realisation dawns.

If not that he and those men found me, I would be a victim of whatever his so-called friend had been planning.

That sick man would have killed me.
