Sophie's POV
*
I order coffee from the cafeteria beside the company and take a sip while staring out the glass windows.
The view is really beautiful from the cafe, more so from the left corner where I'm sitting. There are big shops and buildings around the company, obviously they have their own way of benefiting from each other.
This cafeteria itself is crowded and I know it would easily get crowded since it is beside a company.
Moreover, who doesn't love coffee?
Looking around, there is no sign of Oli and Mr Abdul. I guess they left for his office after getting the coffee he said he needed.
My mind slowly drifts off to Demola. He must have felt somewhat upset with how I reacted just now but it's for the best.
I fetch my phone from my pocket and go to my contacts, clicking on his name. He even used his picture as my phone's background, saying the guys with 'bangs and piercing blue eyes' would know I'm 'taken' if they try to get my phone number.
He is so territorial.
In the picture he used, his lips are firmly planted on my cheek and he is staring intently at me while my face is parted into two equal halves with how well I'm grinning at the camera. We're wearing matching light blue sweats and Oli has the same one, only smaller.
Smiling at how cheesy we look in my phone background, I'm about to put it away but my phone begins to vibrate as a call comes in. I'm about to pick the call but I stop when I see it's an unknown number.
Then I realize it could be Demola calling from the office mobile.
I swipe on the screen. "Hello?"
"Hi Sophie, it's Abdul. Oli is acting a little strange, her eyes are drooping and she keeps saying she wants to see you." He says in a tense tone.
I furrow my brows and my heart skips a beat. I sit up immediately.
"What happened? How- please calm her down and try to regulate her breathing. I'm on my way." I exhale, instantly getting up with my phone as I make my way out, almost running into a couple in the process.
What could have happened? She was fine when she left Demola's office and there was no sign of her running temperature or looking sick.
I can hear his labored breathing. "I'm already doing that."
"Good. Did you feed her anything?"
"No. We went to my office and I escorted my girlfriend to the car park but as she left, Oli started acting this way."
"Oh my God. Oh my God." I mutter repeatedly.
I step out of the shop and look around, as if he's right beside me.
"Can you come to the car park and help me check on her?" He asks.
"Sure. I'll be there right now." I bring my phone down from my ear and tuck it in my front pocket before rushing out.
I enter the company once again and find my way through the side of the numerous cars parked around.
"She was fine earlier on. What could have happened? Oh God, I pray she's okay. I should call Demola immediately I get there so we'll rush her to the hospital." I repeatedly murmur to myself.
I keep checking for a black Toyota Camry since that's the color of Abdul's car but I spot Oli's pink watch on the ground.
With nervousness, I bend and pick it.
