Chapter 2

The rest of the dinner went by in a blur.

As dinner came to an end the tension had risen even more and was very thick.

Out of nowhere my mom broke out into heart-wrenching sobs that made me more confused.

"Mom?? Dad??, what is the problem? " I asked.

"Ohhhh hunnie we're so very sorry for this, but we had no choice," My dad said.

"What do you mean dad?? What's happening? Why is mom crying?? Damian??" I said turning to my brother.

"I am as confused as you are sis," He said while looking at mom with a confused look on his face.

"Tell her Rodrick, I cannot do it please tell her," my mom said with a weak voice.

"Tell me what dad? Please explain to me why these strange 'business partners' are here and why is mom crying and saying she's sorry" I said becoming more frustrated as time went by.

"Hunni come and have a seat," Dad said, I went and sat beside Damian, my dad cleared his throat.

"Shai, I had made a promise to the father of Aaron Di Steffando that when you turned 21 I would hand you over to Aaron in marriage," he sighed before continuing.

Flashback
It was a bright and sunny day when Isabelle had arrived in town, she was a beauty, easy on the eyes, and as soon as Antonio and Rodrick spotted her they were immediately struck with awe for the beauty. Days had passed by with the two men taking a likening to the beautiful Isabelle but Rodrick being a man of integrity stepped back and gave Antonio his shot but little did they know that Isabelle had taken a likening to Rodrick. Weeks had passed and Rodrick could no longer take it, so one day he confessed his feelings for Isabelle and she did the same and from that day they entered into a relationship, they had to keep it a secret though because neither of them wanted to face Antonio's wrath but he eventually got word of it and to say he was furious was an understatement, Antonio had confronted Rodrick and declared war against him but because they had been best friends for so long Antonio had a soft spot for Rodrick so they made a negotiation, Antonio would allow Rodrick and Isabelle to proceed with their relationship but whenever Isabelle had a child if it was a girl she would have to marry his son once she turned 21 and if the was a boy he would have to work for him, Rodrick was hesitant at first but because he did not want to lose his best friend, Rodrick did what he thought was right at the moment and agreed.

Back to the present

My dad sighed once he had finished telling me the story.

"I'm sorry princess I really am if there's anyone to blame it's me and not your mom," Dad said hanging his head low.

"Dad, it's ok I am not blaming anyone, I'm a bit disappointed but you only did what you thought was right at the time" I said and got up.

"When do I leave?" I asked.

"Tonight" My mom replied for the first since she started crying, I sighed and went to my room to start packing.

*Knock* *Knock*

I walked out of my closet and went to open my door, it was my brother.

"Hey sis, how are you holding up??" Damian asked.

"I've had better days none can compare to this one though" I replied letting out a soft chuckle.

Damian came closer and hugged me and that's all it took for me to break into tears, sobs raked through my body and I shook with how my sobs were violent.

"It's going to be ok sis. I promise I'll come and visit you every day along with Anna, but why didn't you argue though?" He stepped back to get a good look at me.

"This was my fate before I was even born so it made no sense to fight it, do me a favor though, take care of Anna, Mom, Dad, and yourself for me," I said sadly.

"I will sis, I love you so much" Damian whispered.

"I love you too." Soon after he walked out so that I could finish packing, it took me an hour and a half to finish, and by the time I finished, I was tired and sweaty.

Just to be clear guys! Ari and Anna are in university. 
Ari is now 21 while Anna is 22.
Aaron is 24.
