The next day Rose walked groggily to the coffee shop. She was emotionally weighed down; everything was just too much. When she had finally gotten out of bed that day, she almost had't wanted to go to Just Another Coffee Shop but she knew John could probably help. Maybe lighten her up a bit.

When she walked into the coffee shop, it was around ten PM and John seemed to sense her mood change. Instead of the bounciness and fluff that Rose usually acquired to, she seemed depressed.

"What's going on?" John asked, his brow furrowing in worry.

Rose was about to make up something, but decided against it, "My friend, he's a soldier and is currently MIA."

The words came out as if it was just another day. Even thought it was an emotional toll for her.

"I'm so sorry." He said.

Rose shrugged, "Not like you could do anything."

He smiled a bit, "I could get to know you a bit more. And I mean over a nice dinner, at a nice restaurant."

"Are you asking me out on a date?"

John handed Rose her usual, "I'd like to call it catching up."

Rose laughed and sat in her usual chair. She somehow wrote. She wrote what she felt, but hidden in the story.

The next morning John laid in bed looking at the sun sprawl across the sky as he tried to fall asleep, he was going on a date with Rose Tyler. The beautiful woman, saddened. He was going to make sure to keep her happy. Try to keep her from spiraling into the depression he had once been in, to keep her away from hurt. He couldn't help it; this girl was something new to him. Masked, yet her feelings shined through. Bright, yet dark.

Rose Tyler, one of the most fascinating people on earth. So..... different. A good different, almost perfect different.

He sighed and rolled over, Thursday night he would be with her. Out of his ratty sweatshirt and apron, in a suit. He wanted to charm her; try to make her see that she is important. He'd hope maybe they could be something more. Even though it might hurt him, and her. He was willing, for some reason this girl meant the world to him. Only after knowing her for two months, she'd taken his heart and head.
