Avira's POV

Shit.

"Uhhhh..." I said as I tried to think of a lie. Finally, channeling my charm-speak into my voice, I said, "Wait... who are you guys? I don't know you. I think you have the wrong person."

"No. You were-" Josh started.

"Avira. What is he talking about?" Stanley asked slowly, the faint scent of fear filled the air.

"She came over to us, convinced Jackson to go with her... and he just disappeared..." Ryan said.

Oh fuck my life.

"We heard him scream." Josh said. The smell of fear grew stronger with every passing minute. "She killed him."

"A-Avira? W-what is h-he talking about?" Bill whispered, a look of fear on his face.

I made eye contact with Ryan and Josh, letting my eyes turn red and the lines appear on my face. I quickly made an illusion to make myself look normal to everyone else. Using my charm-speak I said,  "After I talked to Jackson, he left and that's it. I didn't kill him. And I don't even know you guys and you don't know me. Jackson  was alone when I talked to him and you weren't there. Stop accusing me of killing him and leave, before I do something I may or may not regret."

Josh and Ryan nodded instantly and walked away. I went back to normal and made my illusion go away. I turned to look at the others who had scared looks on their faces.

"Um that was random..." I said, dropping a bit of charm-speak into my voice; the others nodded but didn't look fully convinced that what had just happened was "random". "What are you guys doing?" I walked over to the river where the 'dam' was.

"W-well, we were trying to make a dam, but it ain't going so well.." Ben said. I guess my charm-speak is getting stronger; everyone seems OK and less freaked out now. "The water keeps seeping through the wood; we need something to fill-"

"Add sand." Richie and I said in unison. We both looked at eachother and laughed. His laugh is kinda cute...

"Well there doll," Richie said like he was a character from that movie, Grease. ("Grease" was released  in 1978. "IT" takes place in 1989) Richie ran his fingers through his hair and put his hip to the side, looking at me up and down. Jeez, he was really good at voices... and acting. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks. He began singing.

He took my hand and spun me and I giggled. Everyone's smiles slowly faded and I realized I sounded almost identical to Pennywise's laugh. The Losers club looked at me and the scared expression returned to their faces as fast as a lightswitch being flicked on.

"What?" I asked, crossing my arms.

After a minute of silence, Bill spoke. "T-there is this c-c-clown... IT k-keeps scaring u-us a-and killing k-kids... I-IT killed m-m-my b-brother." I couldn't help it, but part of my heart filled with sympathy. I felt bad that he had lost his brother because of my demon-father's thirst for blood and fear.

"No offense but your laugh sounded a tiny bit like IT's laugh." Beverly continued. "We aren't scared of you or anything by the way." Haha bitch please; I could smell their fear from a mile away. I had to resist the urge to whip out my fangs and yellow eyes and make them piss their pants. "Please don't get the wrong idea."

"It's okay... I understand." I said. "IT has a name by the way." I. Am. A. Dumbass. Well, now I had to go with what I said. "IT's name is Pennywise."

"How do yo-" Mike started.

"How do I know that?" I said, using my telepathy to know what he was thinking. He nodded, the scent of fear grew stronger. God, I was starving right now; the smell of fear was making me hungry. I fought the urge to sink my fangs into their arms; but I actually couldn't, these were my friends. "I found out from... a friend of mine. He told me IT's name." They nodded, but I could tell they were curious and being cautious.

We all began working on the dam a few minutes later.  Bill and Richie were cutting planks of wood with a saw that Bill had brought. Bev and Ben were making piles of sand. Mike, Stan and I were placing the sand between the boards in the water. And Eddie simply stood behind us complaining about the germs in the sand and screaming whenever Richie threw sand or scraps of wood at him. The water level in the river was slowly going down in the space behind the dam that we were building.

Richie's radio was blasting a music while we worked. But soon a yell interrupted the music and we all turned to the source of the noise. Bill. The saw was on the ground and rich, red blood leaked out of a cut across the side of his hands. His eyes were closed and he clutched his injured hand with his non-injured one. My eyes fell upon the red blood that began to drip onto the dirt. I walked beind everyone to get a better look at what happened; well, actually just to get closer look at the fresh blood.

And then it happened; I lost control. My teeth began to form into fangs and my eyes changed color. The lines slowly appeared on my face and my hair changed color as my fingernails sharpened into claws. Everyone's eyes were on Bill; no one had noticed my other, un-human identity yet.
