"I think I'll pass on the offer Bowers," Avira said, beginning to back away.
"You'll float too Avi." Henry grinned, pointing his knife in her direction. "Just a quick little cut won't hurt. One little cut to get the blood flowing."
She felt her heartbeat begin to quicken as she took another step back. "You're possessed Henry, this isn't you." It had suddenly donned on her that Henry could kill her, but he wouldn't, right?
Henry proceeded to ignore her, slowly walking closer and keeping his knife pointed at her. "Why don't you tell me where those little friends of yours are, Avi? I'll spare your life," he grinned as he lunged towards her.
Avira concentrated a moment, letting her fingernails sharpen into claws. She shut her eyes tightly and stepped forward, her claws sinking into Henry's chest. But strangely, she felt no blood or heard any noise. She slowly opened her eyes, jumping back at the sight before her.
"Are you scared Avi?" A voice said, a red balloon inched from her face, Henry Bowers no where to be seen.
Avira opened her mouth to say something but couldn't bring herself to. Instead she turned and ran back to the main road, trying to ignore the voice she heard. She continued to run, going to the first place she could think of: the arcade and to Richie.
"Richie," Avi said quietly, walking to his side as he played the game.
He glanced in her direction, "What?" He asked, anger still clearly running through him as he pressed the controls roughly.
She didn't say another word. She simply stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, letting her eyes fall closed. Richie tensed up, looking at the girl hugging him. Letting go of the joystick, he turned to hug her, not saying a word and simply holding her.
"I-I saw something," She mumbled, pulling away to look at him.
"Saw what?" Richie asked, completely ignoring his game and turning his full attention to her.
"Henry Bowers... balloon... voice." She managed to say, her eyes falling closed. Her heart was racing and she could hear the rapid beats banging in her chest.
"Are you okay?"
She nodded a little. "I think so." She shook her head to clear her thoughts. "It was just... weird. I felt, I don't know."
"Fear?"
Avira nodded, "I-I hate that feeling. I feel too human." She tucked a strand of her hair back, her eyes falling to the floor. Avi was beginning to develop a strong hatred for fear. She hated the way her heart raced and her throat closed up and she felt out of control.
"Well you're still technically human," Richie shrugged, attempting to lighten the mood. "Last I checked, there's a heart in that 50% demon body of yours."
She let her lips turn into a light smile. "Maybe keep your eyes off my body, how about that?" She glanced at Richie's game, taking the joystick into one hand and smoothly finishing the match for him. Richie looked at her in astonishment. "I used to spend a lot of time alone."
"Bravo, bravo Miss Jackson!" Richie applauded, earning a laugh from Avira. They eventually became quiet again. "You feeling better?"
Avira tilted her head slightly. "What do you mean?"
"The crackhouse. You getting possessed or whatever happened."
"Oh." She shrugged, thinking over her choice of words. "I feel okay, I suppose. Cold."
"Cold?"
She nodded. "I keep getting chills; I don't like it. My head feels foggy."
"You feel warm to me." He smoothly took her hand in his, nodding to himself. "Warm, hot even."
Avira playfully shoved his arm. "Would you stop being such a flirt?" She smiled, reaching into her pocket for a quarter. "Shall we play a game?"
Richie crossed his arms, switching into an accent. "You dare challenge the master of Street Fighter. Well I hate to tell ya', pretty lady, but you will lose. I will-"
"Beep beep Richie," Avi smiled, slipping the coin into the slot. "Now watch as I kick your ass."
"Let's make a deal. If I win, I get whatever I want." He offered.
"You want a kiss, don't you Trashmouth?" She smirked softly. He opened his mouth to reply but she grinned. "Telepathy, remember?"
And nothing happened for the next 2 weeks
Okay I'm somewhat back, sorry for the wait
